For at least 6 months of that one year warranty period, it will be waiting on parts or being repaired at a dealership, then the second (third, fourth, whatever) owner will unload it because it's not worth the headache, especially not outside of warranty.
There is a reason they depreciate so quickly. |

All I know is that my (fairly heavily modified) Subaru went faster than one on an autox course (in the hands of a decently experienced driver, driving it for the first/only time), so do not want.

I'm not sure what you're getting at. It would eat your cars lunch in every metric given equal drivers/experience in the car, etc. Not even a remotely close comparison.

A one year warranty for a CPO car doesn't scream "we believe in the longevity of our cars."

Yeah for an 8 year old supercar it's great. I assumed it for the usual 1-3 year old cars like Subaru does. |

The 570/720 models have apparently been very reliable with the exception of some disappointing bodywork QA issues. "Out of warranty" isn't an issue, as McLaren well sell you a direct warranty on any vehicle for at least 7 years, regardless of continuity. It's not cheap, but it's certainly not expensive for the price of them. Can't get that on my Chevy even - beats just about every manufacturer out there on that front. Most will only point you to a dealer-sold 3rd party warranty. |

I bought a used 600LT in April, at the beginning of all this COVID madness. It’s been perfectly reliable and an awesome car so far. I know several other McLaren owners that are also very happy. There are certainly problem cars out there, but I think it’s a bit blown out of proportion. Plus, you only live once and they are amazing cars to drive. |
