The wife and I were doing a little shooting last night. She's getting ready to do her chl class. Problem being is that her 1911 that used to be tack driver is no longer that way. I don't understand what the issue is, it doeant have that many rounds through it. I've adjust the sights and no matter what I do it still shoots the same. At 15 yards it shoots about 10" low. I've made adjustment to the rear sight and nothing. I put a laser bore sight in and it doesn't change. I can physically see the sight move up/down/left/right but it's point of impact is always the same. I'm stumped. I think it's time for a gunsmith.

I can take any of my other 1911's out and shoot from the same distance and they are all tack driver's.

Cool pic my wife took last night

How's the crown look? Though I think it would have to be a pretty big ding to effect accuracy that much.

Are you sure the sights are tight? How does the bore look? Change ammo recently?

All seems fine. That's why I'm so confused.

I finally took my gen 5 Glock 19 to the range. I must say I'm pretty disappointed at how uncomfortable the magwell cutout in the grip is even when using Pearce mag baseplates. They may actually make it worse. I guess I need to wrap my pinky finger with tape or band-aids or something next time. Lame.

If it were any other modern pistol I'd say it sounds like it might be a timing issue. But it's a 1911. So I haven't the foggiest.

Know any decent gunsmiths around you?

Made it to the indoor range with my good buddy today. He bought a CZ Scorpion that was pretty fun. Much more recoil than i expected, though not to say it has a lot of recoil.

I got to try out the red dot on my 22/45. I'm much more accurate with the dot, but i feel likei still have trouble picking it up when i first bring the pistol up on target. I was shooting at this dude's head at 21ft. I wish i new how big the orange parts are on these targets, because I'd guess the label is about 3/4 as big as one of those

I shot my 19 surprisingly well for not having shot it in a while.

It was fun. I wish i could do it more often.

Our local Steel match was this weekend. I feel like I shot pretty well. I used my .22 SBR for Rimfire Rifle and ended up first. I shot my Shadow 2 in Stock Auto and ended up second. I had a miss called and after reviewing the video I definitely got the hit. Considering I was only 3 seconds behind the guy in first, and a miss is +5 seconds, it cost me first place. Oh well, there’s always next time.

I ended up doing a little minor surgery on the grip cutout using 100-grit sandpaper wrapped around a dowel. I was able to get the sharp edge off quite a bit without opening the cutout even more and it looks pretty good. We'll see how it feels next time at the range.

I put a piece of grip tape over the cutout on my Gen 2 a couple of months ago, but have yet to take it to the range. My new solution for the Gen 5 is to buy the MOS version that was recently released, that does not have the cutout.

efile form 1s are coming back in under two weeks since they just turned them back on and there's no backlog

Just traded in my SR-22 today and got this Mark IV 22/45 Tactical - very much an improvement! Don't know if I'll put a red dot on it but pretty happy with it so far. SR-22 felt like a toy in comparison.

Still haven't tried my Gen 2 with the grip tape, but my new solution to get the Gen 5 MOS was definitely the fix to my problem compared to the 19 with the cutout that I shot when they were first released a bit over a year ago. Picked it up this morning, took it to the range this afternoon, and it's probably my new favorite! I wish they would have released the Gen 5 19 in this configuration! Also, the ejection seemed more positive than my other Gen 5 guns. I have read that a notch was added in the breech face area to help on the newest guns, but this was my first time experiencing it.

What's the process for the ATF e-form? I want to form 1 one or two suppressors to my trust.

Question for you guys that have predator hunting experience.

I recently purchased a Ruger American Ranch in 300BLK for coyote hunting. I put my Sig Whiskey5 3-9X50 on it. It just has a duplex reticle on it. The glass is fantastic and the zoom range is sufficient for 300BLK. The problem arises with the fact that I plan on hunting suppressed with subsonics. I doubt I would take much more than a 100 yard shot and with a 50 yard zero, it's dropping almost 6 inches at 100.

I have a spare Primary Arms 4-14x FFP with their nice illuminated reticle that has subtensions up to 20 moa. The glass isn't as nice but the other features make it seem like a good choice, especially for on the fly holds.

So, 3-9X, nice glass, no illumination, duplex reticle, have to dial in holds
Or
4-14X, just ok glass, FFP, nice illuminated reticle, quick holds

If I do take a shot at one, it will probably be dusk, ranged with a rangefinder and, if I have time, dial the turrets on the Sig. I've never really hunted coyotes before, I just happen to have an easy opportunity with them being in my backyard.

Yeah, the cutout sucks big time for me.

I turned my Gen 4 19 MOS back into a regular 19 and put the sights and red dot on the Gen 5 19 MOS. Curious to see if/how POA/POI will be affected.

Not sure if I posted any of these pics, but here is what I did to my Gen 2 19 to try and fix my issues with the cutout. I still have yet to take it to the range.

my other stamp just showed up, a few days short of 11 months since the check was cashed.

its a griffin optimus, im going to have to work on some hand loads, the s&b 200g subs i have arent very quiet. they are 1,060 fps, i heard you need to get under 950 fps so the bullet doesnt "tear" through the air?

I REALLY want cans for a couple of my guns, I just am nowhere near patient enough to spend the money then wait nearly a fking year to be able to have it.

There is NO reason that it should take that long, I talked to an ATF guy who confided in me that they are fully capable of processing stamps in a matter of weeks and have been for some time. He couldn't give me a good reason why they don't but my suspicion *tinfoil hat on... is that the ATF is trying to limit the number of cans out there in the public's hand, so they make it as onerous as possible to get one, in hopes that a lot of people simply won't do it. *tinfoil hat off...

the root of the issue is its a somewhat antiquated process and there arent enough people to process all the paperwork in a timely fashion. the fbi also takes forever to do the background checks. the first stamp of mine that was approved was submitted over 2 months after the first one and they were both approved within 3 days of each other. a friend sent his stuff in 2 months after me and got it back 2 months before i did.

i heard that the atf is getting another 20 people to process these in 2019, so hopefully things speed up.

If the stupid HPA hadn't died in committee, we would have been able to walk into a gun store and walk out with a suppressed weapon.

But NO!
