The wife and I were doing a little shooting last night. She's getting ready to do her chl class. Problem being is that her 1911 that used to be tack driver is no longer that way. I don't understand what the issue is, it doeant have that many rounds through it. I've adjust the sights and no matter what I do it still shoots the same. At 15 yards it shoots about 10" low. I've made adjustment to the rear sight and nothing. I put a laser bore sight in and it doesn't change. I can physically see the sight move up/down/left/right but it's point of impact is always the same. I'm stumped. I think it's time for a gunsmith.
I can take any of my other 1911's out and shoot from the same distance and they are all tack driver's. Cool pic my wife took last night

How's the crown look? Though I think it would have to be a pretty big ding to effect accuracy that much.
Are you sure the sights are tight? How does the bore look? Change ammo recently? |

I finally took my gen 5 Glock 19 to the range. I must say I'm pretty disappointed at how uncomfortable the magwell cutout in the grip is even when using Pearce mag baseplates. They may actually make it worse. I guess I need to wrap my pinky finger with tape or band-aids or something next time. Lame.

Made it to the indoor range with my good buddy today. He bought a CZ Scorpion that was pretty fun. Much more recoil than i expected, though not to say it has a lot of recoil.
I got to try out the red dot on my 22/45. I'm much more accurate with the dot, but i feel likei still have trouble picking it up when i first bring the pistol up on target. I was shooting at this dude's head at 21ft. I wish i new how big the orange parts are on these targets, because I'd guess the label is about 3/4 as big as one of those I shot my 19 surprisingly well for not having shot it in a while. It was fun. I wish i could do it more often. |

Our local Steel match was this weekend. I feel like I shot pretty well. I used my .22 SBR for Rimfire Rifle and ended up first. I shot my Shadow 2 in Stock Auto and ended up second. I had a miss called and after reviewing the video I definitely got the hit. Considering I was only 3 seconds behind the guy in first, and a miss is +5 seconds, it cost me first place. Oh well, there’s always next time.

I put a piece of grip tape over the cutout on my Gen 2 a couple of months ago, but have yet to take it to the range. My new solution for the Gen 5 is to buy the MOS version that was recently released, that does not have the cutout.

What's the process for the ATF e-form? I want to form 1 one or two suppressors to my trust.

Question for you guys that have predator hunting experience.
I recently purchased a Ruger American Ranch in 300BLK for coyote hunting. I put my Sig Whiskey5 3-9X50 on it. It just has a duplex reticle on it. The glass is fantastic and the zoom range is sufficient for 300BLK. The problem arises with the fact that I plan on hunting suppressed with subsonics. I doubt I would take much more than a 100 yard shot and with a 50 yard zero, it's dropping almost 6 inches at 100. I have a spare Primary Arms 4-14x FFP with their nice illuminated reticle that has subtensions up to 20 moa. The glass isn't as nice but the other features make it seem like a good choice, especially for on the fly holds. So, 3-9X, nice glass, no illumination, duplex reticle, have to dial in holds Or 4-14X, just ok glass, FFP, nice illuminated reticle, quick holds If I do take a shot at one, it will probably be dusk, ranged with a rangefinder and, if I have time, dial the turrets on the Sig. I've never really hunted coyotes before, I just happen to have an easy opportunity with them being in my backyard. |

Not sure if I posted any of these pics, but here is what I did to my Gen 2 19 to try and fix my issues with the cutout. I still have yet to take it to the range.

There is NO reason that it should take that long, I talked to an ATF guy who confided in me that they are fully capable of processing stamps in a matter of weeks and have been for some time. He couldn't give me a good reason why they don't but my suspicion *tinfoil hat on... is that the ATF is trying to limit the number of cans out there in the public's hand, so they make it as onerous as possible to get one, in hopes that a lot of people simply won't do it. *tinfoil hat off... |

If the stupid HPA hadn't died in committee, we would have been able to walk into a gun store and walk out with a suppressed weapon.
But NO! |
