That Indy Cator shift knob is stupid. Are you honestly telling me that you forget what gear you are in when you are driving? Looking down at your shift knob to figure it out seems like the worst idea.

I don't have a problem with the polymer. I got the brass insert for durability and there was a "sale" on the insert model.
I didn't get metal because of heat and cold concerns. I don't need a 200 degree shift knob when it's been in the sun all day. It may not really be that bad, but I liked the polymer ones all the same.

I'm gonna have to give it to the STi Duracon 6MT. best $60 I spent for the car. the shape makes it ergonomically pleasing..
plus it doesn't get hot after sitting under the 90 degree weather for the whole day

It's (temperature retention) not bad--at all. Get the stainless steel for a nice heavy SOLID shift. Not to be disappointed...
Light knobs such as stock tend to feel as if the weight on the opposite end of your hand controls the movement whereas a heavier knob gives you more leverage--in feel.

Get a SS knob!

i have the 5spd COBB knob, with the blue anodized collar. i love it, really good weight, great feel, and its made of delerin so it never gets overly hot or cold! just recently did a Kartboy SS with front and rear bushings and the set up feels amazing!

I did some looking around, couldn't find anyone on here (or anywhere) using this knob, Blox Type R:

But I saw on their website that they offer in 6speed, 12x1.25 pitch, which is exactly what I needed for the STi. I was just worried about the reverse lockout not working, but thought I'd try anyway.

Finished product, after trimming approx 1/2" from my Kartboy short shifter:
(Please excuse the level of filthiness my car is in right now)

I had this on my old 5 sp before I sold it. They have all sorts of color combos and other cool inclusions (bullets...)

I adore my TWM Desert Eagle knob. 1.32lbs!

http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...hiftknobs.html

Looks a little funny on the stock shift stalk since the knob is a little tall, but once the Kartboy STS is on, it looks much better (sorry no pics of that yet).
