Default Confirming Placement of Emissions Hose to Nowhere

On the 2008 WRX that I acquired for my son, there are lots of unplugged connectors and one hose that I found. The hose comes from the front of the intake manifold and has the white circular vapor trap (?) and then trails to under the intake manifold and then just stops, as in its not plugged into anything. It this the hose that gets plugged into the vacuum T coming off the turbo?
As the PO has done a few mods and a EJ20X swap, I just wanted to ask to make sure, that this hose didn't originally go to the the old air box or something.
Thanks in advance.
Geoff

Post a picture, its impossible to say withou it. to me that sounds like it should go to an evap solenoid, that was maybe deleted incorrectly.

Nothing off the intake manifold should be venting to atmosphere.

Maybe the line 22310 between the manifold and the MAP sensor 22012

I am almost positive that a EJ20X is JDM engine
Can you confirm?

So behind the intake pipe is a 2-part line with a white splice piece in-between, just under the manifold. The right end of the hose connects to the solenoid with the blue plug. Its the right end of the hose that just disappears into nowhere and didn't connect to anything. The schematic you posted EB is almost correct, but I'm more inclined to say that it may be hose 22684 that goes to whatever Fig 073 is...

Thanks for responding, guys.

Ali,

I think that it is. When the EJ255 bit the dust, I believe the PO grabbed the first motor he could which I believe was the EJ20X

EJ20X was a JDM Legacy motor. its a cheap replacement option for dual avcs motors. it has a higher compression ratio than some of the others.

That appears to be the evap solenoid. They can be deleted. as far as I recall no one actually knew exactly what it did. Its part of emissions and the charcoal canister. If you delete the solenoid it should trigger a couple of DTCs.

you could also just return the configuration to stock, all it does is cost money and a little frustration to hook it up.

Thanks, 86.

So I can just clamp off that hose or cap the port on the valve that it comes from for now. Or reinstate it - just gotta find out where it goes to (all the way back to the charcoal cannister???)
Last question I have: the small vacuum line on the turbo for the WG actuator...where does the down-T on the pvc connector for that line lead? Mine was unplugged with no obvious vacuum line to go there. That's why I was hoping this mystery hose at the front of the intake manifold somehow magically lead to this unplugged turbo vacuum line.

Actually On second look i think im wrong, im not sure what this solenoid is. 16102B is most likely the evap solenoid.

if nothing else cap up any open ports on the intake and manifold.

So...anyone. What does hose 22684 goto on YOUR vehicle? Schematic just says Fig 073 but I have no idea what that refers to.
Said differently: on your hose on the vacuum T on the turbo, where does it go to?

Sorry to be a pain.

Its the hose that the says "To Wastegate Solenoid" in the one picture and the hose that says "Line 3" in the other picture. The only thing is, when I type in Wastegate Solenoid Valve for a 2008 WRX, its not very definitive what it actually is...

OP
After searching microfiche of several USDM models and looking/tracing my hoses from boost solenoid this what I found(MY05 Sti)
Firstly, IMO, there are very few rubber hoses that run from front to back of car(charcoal canister)
Only ones I can definitely say yes are washer hoses for rear glass and intercooler sprayers
Even on old American V8s and such, hoses usually re-enter engine (valve cover/intake/etc) for emissions
That said
I traced 3 hoses from my boost solenoid 3 hoses
(Im not stating where pressure coming from, just where hoses go from B solenoid)
1-to turbo
2-to turbo inlet(top right behind a hard line p/s fluid line)
3-to the Y pipe (under TM(stock) intercooler (aluminum pipe)

Hope helps
Keep in mind diff year/diff engine but might just help
Keep us posted
