Default 2021 STi audio integration

Alright. New 2021 STi on the way. Should be here in 3-4 weeks. It's the base and no oem stereo upgrades.

So I'm assuming I will have 4 channels of oem high level signal. I looked at PacAudio and no AmpPro available.

I'm debating between a JL Audio Fix 86 & TwK 88 set up or an Audio Control DM608 set up.

Not gonna be anything crazy loud, i'm more about sound quality. Probably going to do JL C3 components in the front, C2 coax in the rear and single 10W6 in the trunk. Powered by HD900/5 channel amp.

If the best route is Audio Control for the signal summing and DSP, I'm considering the D-5.1300 for an all in one package.

Which path for signal summing and DSP should I go with and why?

I had the D6.1200 and it integrated without a problem so the D5 would be even better as it'll have more power for the sub.

The issues you're going to run into is that the factory radio has a couple things that can give you headaches. It's got bass roll off and has a couple allpass filters.

The bass rolloff is something you should be able to adjust for relatively easily. The audio control unit has a built in input equalizer that should help with that along with ACCUBASS.

IF you are going to try and go the route of setting up time alignment and a sound stage you will HAVE TO get a Kicker KEYLOC to help eliminate the allpass filters and provide a flatter signal to the DSP of your choice.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Thank you so much for the info!! Now I have to do a little research on the keyloc.

So the Kicker keyloc is a less sophisticated DSP compared to the DM608? I did not know that. I'm planning on installing a system in my Outback. I leaning towards replacing the radio with a single din or double din (non video). Pros outweighs the cons for me to replace the radio with aftermarket. No need to spend money on the keyloc. That's my view!
