Default Intercooler question

Does anyone know if the ets 4" front mount intercooler will bolt directly up to mishimoto front mount pipes.. The two intercoolers see to have hook ups in about the same place.

Most likely not, as they are two different companies. Jigs / designs are probably similar but YMMV.

Who cares what company it is. As long as the intercoolers same dimensions it will work. Hell as long as the length is the same and the opening ends your good.

To my eyes, it looks like the two aren't just going to bolt together. ETS piping runs right over the location of the bumper beam, Mishimoto looks like it runs lower, below where the bumper beam would be. Might be minor or might leave you in a lurch mid-install sorting out.

Silicone adapters are cheap if you need to correct for different size intake and output, if needed. I haven't looked at the overall width, but if the ETS is narrower, you are going to need longer connectors anyway. Bigger issue is if the ETS is wider, in which case you're going to have to figure out cutting & beading pipe or some other modification to make it work.

Not sure what you have vs. what you're buying but Mishimoto (and Perrin for that matter) have the absolute worst FMIC routing. I get what they were going for, opting for straighter runs, but running clockwise winds up routing your nice cold intake charge right over the hot ass turbo. Boo. My .02 cents...

I just purchased this car a few months ago.. It already has the full mishimoto fmic setup in it.. Im getting ready to go for my pro tune and the tuner wanted a list of my mods.. He then proceeded to tell me i need different injectors and that my already installed mishimoto fmic sucks. So its about half price to just replace the intercooler and not the piping vs doing the whole kit.. He recommended the ets brand.
