Default Killer B Motor Sport High Flow Water Pump Housing

Well, I been looking for reviews on Killer B Motor Sport High Flow Water Pump Housing for long time but I have not find anything. If somebody have bought this part and got good results I would like to know.

This is the link from Killer B Motor Sport High Flow Water Pump Housing.

http://www.killerbmotorsport.com/ind...gsandTurbo.htm

I have installed their oil baffle and oil pickup and here are plenty reviews on this 2 parts but on the High Flow Water Pump Housing I don't find anything. I am looking into buying this part to increase the cooling capacity on my STI. I already have a Koyo radiator but thinking about better water flow to eliminate the bubbles will make it better since the OEM Water Pump Housing is kind of small on modify engines. If somebody did the installation on this and can provide results please post.

I have one. Make sure it comes with the new bolts. You can't use the stock ones. Also, you need to fab up or find a new hose...

Any improvement on cooling efficiency? Looking to install that on my STI to improve the cooling system, right now I have installed the Koyo radiator and Cosworth thermostat but if that will help to improve the water flow that be awesome. Supposedly according to Killer B site it will reduce the cavitation flow.

No idea really. I did it with a pretty major build. New everything.
I got it because The motor needed to spin pretty high under boost for a long duration and I figured it could only help.

If you get it, make sure it has the new bolts. If you're running anything but a stock radiator (even still I don't think the stock hose will fit then) prepare to spend some time hunting out a hose to connect the outlet and the radiator...

So what hose did you end up using?

I am in the middle of the install, yet I can't seem to get any of the OEM hoses to fit? I'm trying to see if modifying them will work, but this shouldn't be this hard, I don't understand why they didn't provide the hose, if it turns out to be a custom one?

I ended up cutting up two stock hoses and using a metal tube to link them. This would be a lot better if they would give an idea for a proper hose

That's a great idea! Although it sort of reduces the advantages of having better flow, as now you are necking down the flow with that extra tube...

By the way, was your housing also more horizontal than angled down? I had to trim the fan surround in order to make the hose fit?

Mine is horizontal. I didn't have to trim anything but I'm using a Ron Davis radiator...

Whats the verdict on these for a race engine? They look good but do they actually improve flow?

Sorry I missed this... 3 years ago

These are for high RPM applications when aeration on the suction side of the pump can occur; where RPMs are regularly going to be +6,500.

Just ran across this post. I noticed that the new one is cast aluminum and they said the hose fitment is easier.

Correct. We made major design/process changes. Not only did the design change to improve fitment, but we could bring the price down some too.

For those that have not seen. Here is the new design and new vs OEM cross section...

Is this housing ONLY for high RPM/HP applications, or will it be a nice addition to a stock car with a future build of around 400 whp?

It certainly won't hurt with a lower power/RPM setup, but the benefit is best seen with high RPM applications.

so I did my cyl 4 mod at the same time as the killerb waterneck...I didnt notice anything until winter. I also dont really monitor anything outside of the factory gauges...but this winter in NM, my car had trouble keeping above the warm line...normally it hovers right on the line if not right above it, but this year (~5 years ownership and daily drive) it was having some trouble staying there. I run a mishimoto dual core radiator (I know, not the best), stock caps, stock thermostat....so I dont think I can say it enough, Thank You Killerb for another awesome product!!!!

Wait, that's actually bad. If you can't keep at running temperature, your engine won't run properly... Is it possible you installed a lower temp thermostat? Did you log any fluctuations on an accessport or anything? I'm in Ohio and really don't want my car to not hit running temp when it's 0 out.

^ I would ask the same question. Do you know what actual temps are via an AcessPORT gauge or some other logging method? Temps below normal operating temps are not good.

I could have logged them, but dont usually care to give myself extra anxiety with all the gauges...an unless subaru is packaging the OE thermostat in the box, its factory temp...I didnt notice any issues and obviously was not flogging it, just driving on the highway when I noticed the needle a little low. If it was a regular issue I would have blocked the radiator to make sure the temps were good...again Im in New Mexico so the winter is pretty mild
