Goodwood Festival of speed is some of the best racing around
These are so enjoyable to both watch...and listen to

Cool. Who doesn't like good wood? I can't believe I don't know what Cobra with a roof on looks like.

110% agree. Modern cars are so good it's easy to watch and believe you could do it. But watching historics piloted by modern drivers in anger, it's harder to believe that you could do the same.
See Philip Island Classics for more similar stuff. The bike stuff is awesome, big names from GP, WSBK, MotoA, etc: |

That hop.
I love the historic races. Problem is it's ten times as bad when it goes wrong. |

Supposedly a lot of the cars in the races are replicas now.

For example, here's Kenny Brack in Adrian Newey's GT40 in the wet. I mean, at about the 1:00 min mark when he's passing on the straight, next to THE WALL, he sawing at the wheel the whole time: |

Just saw Travis' 1st run up Goodwood in the '83. That car is a HOOT!!! It's even got active aero using the wheel fenders and some hood flaps as raising aero. Wow. WOW. Was not expecting that!

I knew of the car, hadn't followed any or watched any coverage that included mention it was the GL.. which was personally surprising.
