You bring up some good points. The original plan was to do absolutely nothing aftermarket on the Evo. I think for the most part it will remain stock and I do agree with you on the intake idea. If anything I will be adding some quality tint professionally applied of course and the coilovers. I plan to keep the stock suspension on hand. It’s probably best from a collector stand point that I leave the engine bay alone. So that’s the plan going forward. The interior will also remain untouched as this one still has all its factory interior. Btw I’m jealous of your Evo V!

Agreed, no need to stage br0 tune it out. Keep that engine bay looking factory fresh. And yeah, keep the original suspension if you put some coilovers on. Easily swapped back in the future. Looks like it has stock wheels, too! Really nice find after all these years.
This site will really come in handy in the future. Not only does it have diagrams of all of the OEM parts in exploded diagram workshop manual format, but it links to where you can buy the part brand new from Amayama in Japan (if it's available). |

Thanks for the info and site! I did not know of this. I’m contemplating putting a pioneer head unit in soon as the Japanese one is essentially useless stateside as I’m sure you already know, unless I dig for an old cassette.... showing my age now. |

For a toy car (not a daily), I'd just leave it and not listen to music in that one car. You appear to have quite a fleet there.
And no worries, I had Dookie and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? on cassette. |

That Evo is sweet. A friend of mine bought a '03 Evo without his wife knowing about it...he just brought it home. The result was hilarious from a bystander's standpoint. He tells me it was well worth it as it was stupid fast.

Oh damn! That must have been interesting to watch as a bystander. I will say that for a 94 This thing feels pretty damn quick, but then again anything compared to my D16 105hp Honda feels quick lol |

So I had my buddy back East refinish my bugeye’s coolant expansion tank. Came out awesome. I suppose it’s the little things that really set off a car. Many of you that have older GD chassis cars are probably aware of the issue over time with these coolant tanks getting kinda corroded over time. I believe the 06-07 (my Hawkeye has plastic) switched over to a plastic tank but earlier gen had metal.

I’m highly considering the BC racing coilovers for the Evolution2GSR. One of the few companies that readily have an aftermarket coilover ready to go out of the box for that car.

Some new Cusco parts for the Evo. The factory exhaust hangers are pretty shot at this point. And giving the magnetic drain plug a try. |

Looks like it's been treated well. Looks mint. I too was considering buying a jdm evo but price and the aftermarket scene was what made me go the subie route.

Cool car! Always loved evo II. Being that old, how is it holding together so far?

So far so good. Although I don’t drive it much. It made the trip back to Yuma from Cypress CA with no issues (4 1/2hours). So that says something. Whomever had it clearly took care of it and didn’t drive it much.

So long story short, my trusty old Honda was stolen a few weeks back, and recovered in about 80% complete condition. The main thing they did to it was spray paint the entire car desert tan. I mean everything... the plastic trim, weather stripping all of it had spray paint. So I sold it as is and took some rare spoon parts off prior. All of which lead to the impulse purchase of this crystal white 2020 Subaru WRX STi base model. Ordered the car about 3 weeks ago and picked it up recently. |

Here are some pics that make me sad to see... this is the Honda after it was recovered.
Car is now sold to new owner locally who plans to sand the entire car down and repaint it. Hopefully he does and it will live on. I just didn’t want to invest more money into and needed to move on from it. |
