Just out of curiosity, what's making you return the Eufy doorbell?

I have 2 Eufy cameras (no doorbell, but have been looking at them) and had no issues.

This is the $25 indoor 2K camera that I have mounted at my front door...this is showing some moron who was supposed to ding-dong-ditch my house, but since I have no doorbell, you can see his confusion...so he just knocks and runs away.

I set the alarm off on him anyways...

Wyze products are great!
Was contemplating switching my Nest Hello to Wyze doorbell cam. They make wired/ wireless options and inexpensive

I have 2 Eufy cameras (no doorbell, but have been looking at them) and had no issues.
Initially out of the box (default settings - 3 sensitivity) I had it setup to pick up all motion... Phew it was picking up everything especially on windy days so I did the motion zones of where I wanted (sidewalk - back to the house and not including the tree)... Well that didn't work since I still got a ton of notifications. I lowered the sensitivity to 2 and it was better but still not ideal.

So I switched it to human alerts only and moved the sensitivity back to 3 (default).

Example:
Wife leaves the house around 6:30am - It does alert.
I leave the house around 7:30am - It does alert.
Mailman comes around 11:45am - It does not alert
I arrive home from work around 3:30pm - It does not alert.
Wife arrives home from work around 5:30pm - It does not alert
I take the trash out to the can around 7:30pm - It does alert.

So I raise up the sensitivity to 4

Saturday (9/25):

* Left house at 9:36am to pick up my mom and niece - Camera DOES alert
* Stop by the house around 12:30pm to get my bathing suit - Camera does NOT alert
* Come home around 3:30pm - Camera does NOT alert
* Left house around 5:30pm - Camera does NOT alert
* Came home around 10pm - Camera does NOT alert

Sunday (9/26):

* Went outside around 7:23am to throw old bread outside - Camera DOES alert
* Left house to run errands at 10:21am - Camera DOES alert
* Came home at 12:13pm - Camera DOES alert
* Left house around 4pm to feed MIL's cat - It does not alert
* Came home from dinner/parents house around 8:15pm - It does not alert

Yesterday

3:36pm - I arrive home from work and it does alerts
4:32pm - It does alert for a lady walking her dog on the sidewalk (you'd think outside the distance for human motion)
6pm (ish) - I leave to go feed my MIL's cat - it does not alert
6:40pm (ish) - I get home from MIL's - it does not alert

Thanks for getting me started on this topic...

The Blink Doorbell 3 (battery) is what I had before the Eufy and it would miss a few here and there but pretty solid. I was cheap and didn't want to pay for the subscription ($3/month) and I liked the Eufy came with a chime since if I wasn't home/out of town the wife would know when someone is at the door. Since most people push the doorbell and won't knock.

Edit: Also to add that even if it doesn't detect someone coming to the door and they press the "doorbell button" I will still get an alert on my phone and the chime inside the house will go off.

So that's a positive.

I have Blink Doorbell as well and it works fine. Got it last year during Amazon Prime day so it was worth it.

What did you pay during the Prime Day sale? It's $84.98 now. Not bad. I'm fine with spending under $150 for a battery powered doorbell camera that works well. Now spending the monthly subscription... I'd like to try Google/Nest Doorbell (battery) but don't want to pay $6/month for 1 device.

I'll be upgrading to a smart lock eventually and was thinking about going with a model with a camera. Then I remembered I have a screen door that might obscure any video.

I bought this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I already have two Blink cameras and a Sync Module.

$34.99 on 11/19/2021...must have been an early "Black Friday" sale or something. Also bought the corner mount as well for $8.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't pay a monthly fee. Everything is stored via USB stick on the Sync Module. I still can see video remotely, still get notifications. Just takes longer to access the saved video from the USB stick.

Not doorbell, but Ring...
Amazon (Prime deal) has the 14 piece alarm for $200 right now. If you're a Ring Protect member with account linked, you get an extra $33 off.

Thanks for the info.

What size USB drive do you have? I realize it will just right over the old recordings automatically.

I know it can hold up to 256GB. I was thinking 64GB or 128GB.

I found a 64GB USB drive that I'm using.

So... I hooked up both the Wyze (Top) and Blink (Bottom).

Well.... Funny story.

Blink Update:
So yesterday (7/1) I noticed the Blink went down in price ($35) from when I got it on 6/28 (delivered)... I reached out to Amazon and they advised they can't issue me a credit (either to my CC or Amazon account) but I could return it and re-purchase it... So I returned it (dropped off at the UPS Store) and I am re-purchasing it.

Wyze Update:
I installed it yesterday (7/1) I installed it in the morning using the 3M Double-Sided tape. Followed the directions. Made sure it was firmly attached. Well this morning I went outside to watch the neighborhood parade and saw the Wyze laying on the ground...
I reached out to Amazon Support explaining the issue that the 3M tape didn't hold and the camera fell. I asked if they could ship me out replacement 3M tape and they said "no we can't do that. You have to start a refund and then re-purchase it"... WTF

So... both have been returned (for different reasons) and will be re-purchased.

In the 24(ish) hours of having both of them..
The Blink I had to adjust the settings a bit since it was triggering for every vehicle passing by (while the Wyze was not).
The picture/video quality of the Wyze is better (1440p vs 1080p).
Notification Wise - Both alerted me at the same time. Basically the same seconds. Wyze you get a thumbnail in the alert of the person/motion. Blink is a basic notification.

Blink I am grandfathered in since I've had an account for a while so I don't have to pay for extra feature like new Blink customers do.
Wyze has their Cam Plus subscription which I feel is required.. Think it's $1.25/month (per camera).

I installed a Blink doorbell last week. It works. I had a Nest doorbell previously at my old house and it was flawless. It did cost $6 a month, but it was excellent. The Blink was less than $100 so that is that with no monthly charge that I am aware of.

I killed my Amazon cloud cams last month after they mentioned they were dying later this year. Had sold arlo last year. Pretty much all in on ring at this point. Battery door bell, 2x battery stickup, 3x wired flood, 3x indoor wired. No ragerts. Only gripe is the crappy mount and short length power wire on the indoor, when compared to Amazon's.

I think blink charges $3/ device now for storing cloud videos etc. Without that- you just get live streaming. Do you get video playback at least and can save to your phone?? Asking because I’m interested in Blink- just don’t want to spend $12/month

This what I wanted to explain, I pulled it from a review article:

Once your doorbell is set up, whenever someone rings it -- or even just walks past -- Blink will send you a notification. From there you can use two-way talk to chat with the visitor or the delivery person.

In general, these notifications were prompt and accurate. The only trouble in my testing was that the latency from when it first detected motion to when I could see the live feed on my phone rarely left me time to intervene if someone was there to steal a package – but this brief delay isn't unusual for video doorbells.

The more unique limitation to Blink's video doorbell is the fact that you can't pull up a live feed of your entryway without first receiving a motion alert or a buzzer press. That means you're out of luck if you're out of town and just want to check what the snow accumulation is like. A benefit of this feature is that it's less of a drain on the battery. Blink says the battery lasts up to two years, although I obviously wasn't able to verify that within my review period.

Blink offers two ways to get around the livestream limitation. First, the doorbell snaps a mid-res photo once every hour so you can see what your entryway looks like in a still image. Second, if you buy a separate device, the $35 Blink Sync Module 2, you can view the live feed and get some other perks including local storage.

Previously with the Nest door bell, I could open the app and it would show me what was going on with out any other interaction. The first time I used the Blink, I opened it up and had to actually interact with the image to show me the live stream with a slight delay as mentioned in the article.

I enjoyed the Nest doorbell, but did not want to spend that much money on it again when we moved. The Blink works and we already had the indoor cameras from the old house with the sync module.

The Blink Video Doorbell is still $50.98 WITH the Blink Sync Module 2. That's the combo I bought last week.

"Save and share clips locally with the included Sync Module 2 and USB drive (sold separately)."
