Default Anchortown WRX

Just traded in my Turbo Velo for a WRX Premium. 5 days ago.

Have wanted a WRX since I first saw/used one in GranTurismo on the Playstation.

Finally made it happen.

No regrets.

But who's still IN Alaska though? I'm about to be out again after Cross-Country Road Trip #555.

Rusty! It's good to see you posting. I still wonder what you're up to from time to time. The community has died, but there were some good times. I miss everyone helping each other to work on their cars. I've been doing a lot of stuff myself these days.

You still Evo'ing?

Still here and still in Fairbanks, we still have our MY00 2.5rs 19Yrs of ownership so far. Still waiting for a WRX that invokes the same feeling I have had for the RS. None of the styling over the past decade has done it for me, maybe 2020 and beyond might.
Cheers

Kind of in a way. It's transformed and moved on to primarily Facebook groups. I think the Alaska "scene" as the kids call it has grown a bit though. One only needs to look at Tacobell on Friday night to see more people meeting up than back in the AKIC/AKMS days.

Ah, you know you miss getting bent over my knee and spanked.

I still have my WRX, 187K on the body now and still daily driven, but a whole different animal than left AK.

Are you, Shannon and the boys still traveling back to AK each year?

My son will graduate high school in a couple years, we are tentatively planning a trip back up in the summer of 2021. Our older kids still live there as well.
It would be super cool to all be together again, maybe have an old school meet and take in an autocross or something similar. Be great to see Bigsexy907, AKSubie, Squad907, JCharron, Sonny&Angela, Tribal, and Taig!

Hallo fra Norge! (Norway) Whats up AKIC? Just me, Vic, back to NASIOC for the first time in nearly a year, first post in AKIC in four!

Worked in Norway for 3½ years, then back to Alaska for 3½ more, now back to Norway for who knows how long.

Driving a car you all can't get over there. Nothing fancy, I should be in some rare Subaru or Nissan or something, but nope, a Citroën Cactus. 1.2 liters, 3 cylinders, 110 hp of turbo charged rage!
