I tried to watch it, wasn't feeling it, moved on to Cowboys v Giants after about 15 minutes or so. Seemed very meh to me, needed some direction.

Agreed. If NFL was scripted like WWE I might watch it.

I enjoyed it. I'll add it to my queue. It wasn't insanely funny but it was also the first show. I'll see where it is at come season end.

Agreed. But I also felt the first episode had to establish the characters first.

In my timezone, this game was on AFTER Orville. I tried watching some of it, but felt this game was WAY worse than the Orville. WAY worse...

It wasnt bad. Felt like a real trek episode but with real people making stupid jokes occasionally.

Well, it's FOX, so if it gets too good they will cancel it after one season.

I gave it a shot but in the end the wife and I only made it about halfway through the episode before moving on to something else. Meh.

The Orville is more Star Trek, than Star Trek.

I missed it last night, because I was watching the 35th Anniversary of Star Trek II screening last night

This review is...not favorable:
Quote:
Lest that sound like good wholesome fun, let me stop you right there: The Orville is not, as it turns out, the Galaxy Quest-style spoof Fox has been selling in its ads. In fact, The Orville isn't particularly funny at all, both by design and accidental ineptitude. Instead, it's a bizarrely straight-up homage to Star Trek that can't seem to admit as much.

The Orville, earnest and hopelessly scattered, makes for one of the most perplexingly conceived new shows I've seen in a long while. (I've watched the first three episodes.) So in the interest of service journalism and potentially saving you hours of your precious life, here are the four most confusing things about the show - plus one bonus thing that is unfortunately not confusing at all.

I concur with "meh".

What were they going for? A parody of Star Trek? A very cheap Star Trek reboot? Was it supposed to be "haha" funny or tongue-in-cheek funny? Was I supposed to taking any of the characters seriously?

Meh. There's too many good shows on Netflix & Amazon for me to waste time trying to figure this show out. If it improves and makes it a full season I'll binge it on Hulu.
