If your water is provided by a company, your water cannot be shut off if one of the following applies:
  • Everyone in your household is age 65 or over
  • You, or someone in your home, is seriously ill
  • You have an infant under 12 months in your home
  • All adults in your home are age 65 or older and a minor child resides in your home
  • You are a tenant whose landlord is responsible for the water bill

Obviously that's specific to MA but I would guess other states would be similar.
This probably applies to unpaid bills.

It’s tricky, they make money by selling you water. Usage goes down, rates go up. They have to keep revenue flowing somehow.

That Las Virgines situation happened with 4 services. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

My wife has decided she's going to become an investor. I caught her watching a youtube on how to "live off your dividends". Cool. Great. I look forward to filing bankruptcy when she puts our life's savings into SQHY and loses it all.

Make sure she diversifies by putting some of it into feline sex reassignment.

Every YT video on investing should go like this:

"If you were searching YT for this video, you should not be investing your money in ANYTHING. Don't forget to slap that like button"

No cameras. The only cameras are at the entrance to the gym which is unfortunately nowhere near where I parked.

I would also bet it was someone on their phone or intoxicated. Or it was intentional. The damage is definitely more than an accidental tap when pulling in/out of a spot.

I'm hoping it won't cost me too much to fix. I was going to sell the car to Carvana (or similar service) this weekend but I guess I will have to get this fixed first as this is going to tank whatever value I can get from them if I leave it as-is. My deductible is $1000 so I'm hoping it's not outrageously more than that because I would prefer to avoid getting insurance involved altogether if possible.

I'm sick of this virus (covid) making me get up at 1-2am to take a crap. It's been 2 weeks, can this thing leave my body already.

Pre-pandemic it cost about $1000 to get the front bumper sprayed/blended on our GD.

Add me to the tinnitus club. I’ve had it constant for at least 20 years now. The result of too loud car stereos, night clubs, concerts etc. I keep hoping an effective treatment is developed. Hearing silence again would bring me to tears.

It gets worse and better through the year, largely exacerbated by allergies and congestion.

For a while it also turned into hyperacusis which is extraordinary noise sensitivity. Even the sound of turning a faucet on and the water splashing into the sink was painful. Let alone trying to stack ceramic dishes. I spent a lot of time with ear plugs in just to bring noise back to a normal level.

The hyperacusis eventually went away over the course of a year or two thank goodness. Like you said, most of the time I can tune out the tinnitus. But being in a completely silent room sucks. I always sleep with a fan or some ambient noise to help mask the ringing.

To those that deal with it, you’re not alone. If you’re new to it, you will learn to tolerate it. Hang in.

Those damn Bounty towel commercials. Where someone spills a drink on the counter and the liquid rushes toward something: lotto ticket, laptop, phone, etc. The actor flips out and says NOOOOO but at the LAST second grabs some Bounty and stops the flow before it hits the item ruining it.

Seriously? WHY DON'T YOU JUST MOVE THE ITEM!

They're the same people that give their toddler a smart phone to "play with" and the toddler immediately smashes it on the floor much the surprise of that person.

Rear bumper is the best place to get hit, there are tons of used ones since all the brodawgs understeer into trees.

Yeah, I was gonna suggest a quick browse of his local salvage/junkyard.

You might be able to pull a bumper for $30 and find a local place to spray it for maybe $200.

It is only for unpaid bills.

One thing about living in this town, used to have a couple coal powerplants and the town used to provide their millions of gallons of water for cooling, from a nice, HUGE reservoir. Well, both powerplants are gone, and we always, ALWAYS have an over abundance of water. However, I live one of the farthest points from the reservoir, and just up the road from the closed powerplant, and since they are no longer using it, water pressure SUCKS.

Looking at getting a pressure-riser to put on the main into the house.

I’ve been needing to replace the whole exhaust in my ****ty cobalt daily. I have the parts, I’m just being lazy. Can’t see from a cursory engine bay look, but it cracked or ate itself somewhere on the way back to work. Sounds completely open and is unbearable to drive. I guess I know what I’m doing in this extended weekend.

I think I may have finally caught it, but too early to tell. Stupid dry throat tickle, and it's still a day or two before I get test results back.

I was informed by my heating company that I only have 56 gallons left on my fuel contract. So, goodbye 2.99 per gallon and hello to 5.66 per gallon. I'm so ****ing glad I went with the contract last winter.

Why even test anymore. It is not like you are going to treat it differently. At this point just assume you have it and ride it out.

The only good thing about COVID is people aren't coming to work sick anymore. We have unlimited sick leave....use it!

Just for work. They like to see proof of illness or whatever if you're out 3 days or more. Plus, I might be able to get the two days I was taking off next week already into covid days.
