Default P1093

I have a 2003 WRX with error code P1093. The car sat for nearly a month and when I finally drove it the thing would hardly move. TGV is stuck closed on the passenger side and car has basically NO power. It’s in the shop right now (The Subie Guy in Richmond, VA) but they say they can’t get the part so I’m wondering just how bad is it to do yourself? I know the drivers side would be really easy but the passenger side looks like it’s gonna be pretty tough. I plan to get the part and I have already made a new appointment but they can’t see me again for a full month so I’m considering tackling the project myself. I’m really just wondering how involved it is and if I’m going to have to pull out half the engine bay to do the job. Also is this code most likely just the tgv sensor has gone bad or is there another likely culprit? Is the tgv sensor the same as the tgv motor? Any help or advice I can get would be greatly appreciated. I’ve just had a kid a couple months ago and this is one headache I really don’t need right now!

I forgot to mention that the car is stock under the hood. Im also realizing that this could be the code for the drivers side and NOT the passenger side. Anyone know which side I’m supposed to be looking at?

Got the car back yesterday and still running like crap. Cleared the code when I got home and the car came back to life! Does this mean that the TGV motor is working since it was able to open up the valve once the code was cleared? Is the sensor the likely culprit? The shop wants me to replace the entire TGV assembly. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
