Bit of a predicament here - I acquired this nice USDM 20k mile hybrid-swap (2.5 block, 2.0 heads) forged motor to swap into my 2006 wrx wagon. I was an idiot and didn't consider that AVCS could be an issue. I can't really find any results that would indicate if I can just drop this motor into the 06 because the 06 ECU is going to expect AVCS right? Is there any way to hack this, or would I be better off acquiring an AVCS EJ25? I see a ton of people can make AVCS work on non-avcs cars with an AVCS motor and iWire harness, but not the other way around.
Another note - this newish hybrid motor has a throttle body that is drive by cable, my 06 wrx is drive by wire. If we get past the AVCS issue, I can just swap throttle bodies and have the DBW work right? I think those are the only 2 blockers for this build, but please let me know if anything else concerns you.
Appreciate any input friends
