i've read about the MY12 and up working, but will this work for a 2011 STi hatch with bluetooth/usb? been wanting to try out this deck but checking on the ae64 site, it only lists MY12 and up....was there a huge difference with the harness on the MY08-11 ?

autoharnesshouse is what I used for my 11 WRX. The harness was different and ae64 wasn't replying to me. If you have questions the guy answered mine and it was pretty much plug and play.

I'm looking at swapping my Clarion headunit but I can't make up my mind which one to upgrade to. My old unit looks like this:
Can anyone speak to whether the 6.2" Fuji is better or worse than the 7" unit? |

Possible to install in 08 STI non nav non Bluetooth
Gday from Sydney Australia!
Ive been a lurker on Nasioc for some time looking for information/advice for repairing and modifying my 08 STI Hatch which is my first Subaru after owning a few JDM cars inc a Honda Integra and an R34 skyline but I saw the light with AWD and loving it. I've finally decided to join up and make my first post! I've read all 10 pages of the thread and must say I'm impressed with the results! This is something I'm looking into to see whether the Impreza/Forester/BRZ GPS unit FM601US install into my car is viable considering my car has no nav and no Bluetooth. I really like the OEM look it will give my car and am happy to do the required work to possibly make it work? I'm aware I'll need to replace the bezel with the nav bezel (66065SC170) which is by by far the easiest part. I'll also need an adaptor harness from auto harness house. I can install a GPS antenna on top of the HU as people have discussed. My bigger issues being I own a non nav/Bluetooth car is I am without the Bluetooth SWC/ microphone and I do not have the USB in my Centre console. I am very handy when it comes to cars. I've built engines before, can weld, hook up sound systems with subs and amps and do all my own service work. Just last weekend I did rotors and pads all round. So abit of intriquite wiring should be manageable lol I suppose my main question to everybody if I were to purchase the mic kit ( H0018FG300), Bluetooth SWC kit ( does this bolt onto my steering wheel) and the Centre console USB port from Subaru or an auto wrecker and run the wiring harnesses for all these 3 components to behind the HU is it that straight forward to plug it into the new head unit and auto harness house adaptor harness and all will work and my car now has a mic and SWC making it Bluetooth compatible to work with the FM601US? I would also love to connect a rear parking Camera aswell. Have I missed anything? Or am I dreaming and best off going aftermarket which I'd like to avoid taking away from the OEM look. I am very sorry for the extremely long post.. I'm just looking for advice and answers. I look forward to everybody's replys. Cheers Peter Last edited by Aussie08STI-R; 11-17-2016 at 07:15 AM. |

this is a quote from Dave's ae64.com page "If installing an FT nav HU from a BRZ or Toyota, you will need to add a resistor to the aux enable wire (which runs between the HU's 28-pin socket and the Subaru's 16-pin aux/mic harness). The resistor must be connected in series (cut the wire I provide, and solder the resistor between the two cut ends). The resistor value should ideally be 2.7K ohms, but any value between about 2K and 5K will work." Does Brian's harness from autoharnesshouse.com have this resistor already included in the wiring? |

Does anyone know how to disable the speedometer safety wire? It wont let you wander the menus while in motion and its driving me crazy. I know when you enter the hidden menu's its listed as "pulse" but it only displays the signal, there isn't a way to disable it onscreen.

I believe if i remember correctly i left it disconnected. Because i as soon as you go after 10mph the radio wont let you search through the manu. I ll have a better answer for you after i get put of work today if you still need the info. I got all the wiring and color codes i know its the number 17 pin off the 28 pin toyota harness. |

Any way these Fujitsu Ten's can be made Apple CarPlay ready or screen mirror ready? The functionality really is outdated. All you guys wanting to swap it in your car, go for a Pioneer for something lol
