Default SOA, we need some more news

(since we know SOA views this board, maybe a small "hint hint" to them will give us some added info...)

SOA: Obviously we are excited about the new STI coming out this summer, however its been since early January since we have heard of any new information. The new pictures of the STI were fine but now I believe its time for some hard facts....

Performance -0-60, skidpad, slalom, 1/4 mi, etc..
Price -how much??$$, options? Colors? (wheels)
Release- when is it really coming out.

With the EVO becoming more and more popular and the fear of loyal Subie fans crossing over to the EVO side, I feel its about time for some needed information to keep the spirit alive...comeon!

NASIOC members, please fire away if you want more info!

Patiently waiting,

Davis

I remember seeing someone posting from a mag article that there won't be anymore info released until mid may, only a few weeks before they start to ship.

You know, funny enough but I know there is at least one person on the board who's driven a USDM STi. I should ask him how it is.

Default Patience.........

I was working for Subaru in march of 2001 when the WRX was released, and I can remember Motor Trend had a short take on the "bug eyes" STI and was saying that it was coming to the uk in 8 months.......

I remember seeing the first STI in Performance Car magazine back in 1993 and wishing we could just get a WRx here,......so I think considering the fact that WE ARE GETTING THE CAR !!!,.. isnt that enough? 9 weeks left,..thats it,..it's been a long road, I think some of us are forgetting that SOA just finally told us we were gettin it,...and it'll be a 2.5, so lets just let it come naturally !!

My point is,..after 10 years of Subaru offering an STI model, the US is after its all said and done, getting one of the most controversial street cars to be offered to the public, and its cheap compared to the cars we'll be sucking up into our scoops.

So lets not forget, it was just 9 weeks ago that we all sat and watched Mitsubishi unveil the Evo and my heart sunk as they said, 271hp, carbon wing, and $ 29885.00,............

So SOA ,..just bring us a good product, that'll run strong, and no CEL's and no broken trans, and maybe a 4.6, ...13.0...and 165 mph Subaru .

944 turbo guy

P.s all you people who are so impatient,..what kinda car were you wishing for ,.say ,....6 years ago?...for me it was a 2.5 rs, 'cause I knew they wouldnt bring the WRX,..but look, some dreams do come true.

Yes a price please, if not I might have to go with the IS300 and that will be a lost customer.

I think he has signed a pact in blood not to reveal any info! Now, if you could get him to meet you maybe you could distract him, get the keys, take the car to Milan dragway (probably not open yet) or a truck scales or a dyno...

I really did not want that to come across that I was really impatient, however I was just probing to hear some new official news. I sold my RS, going to buy a outback to drive, then purchase the Sti in May/June (give ouback to wifey)...maybe I am a bit impatient

Glenn W- those numbers look fine to me...let's just hope they stick.

Patience is a virtue!

Being on the west coast I hope those numbers are reasonably close... without the need for 93 Octane fuel..

I know, it's not your fault, it's the lack of test results

Not really trying to knock your choice, but there's quite a gap between an STi and an IS300. IMO, even the WRX is better choice. The IS300 does look better though. I'm sure you are already aware of the other obvious choices, so I'm curious as to why you'd get an IS?

when I was shoping for a new car I came across the IS300 and just loved it, its not a matter of the extrem differences between the two cars its just that I loved them both and they are pretty much the same price so I can afford either one. The IS is just really appealing to me right now and im itching for new car. and the STi just seems so long away.

Well I would guess it makes less power on 91 or 92, how much it affects these numbers is hard to guess.
