I am going to do it in stages. I plan to be continually working on the car. It's not a daily, and I am not in a rush. I do not have a goal in mind, but I do have a plan for the build which I will start in late winter if other projects don't take over (suspension, bodywork, interior, and the rest of the drivetrain). I am going to see how it feels when I get there and if I want more power I will adjust the car. I see it being around or slightly north of 500whp. But the car may be around 425-450 for a while? Who knows? Not trying to hit a number but more of a sweet spot that I like.
My last STi had a stock location 1st gen Dom. 3.0 with a 10cm hot-side on a stock block. It made just under 400whp I think? I can't remember, I know I had a fuel issue. But that felt nice for a while and at the time was the fastest car I had driven. I have now been in and owned cars that have a couple hundred more horsepower than that. So I know I want more than 400whp as a starting point at least. Sorry for the long-winded answer. Can't sleep. Also, on a side note. I have an extra short block with forged rod and pistons (open deck). That's the motor I will be building while the stock one remains in the car.

some quick updates. I have work this weekend but I plan on getting some stuff done before going in.
add some reflective tape to stock IC. and started to work on the Track Spec Motorsports vents. These came in today and I wanted to at least fit one side. These vents are a "universal application" vent from them. Construction is awesome for this style vent. Fitment needs some massaging but it's there. Well, I got off from work tonight. I was able to finish up the fender vents. Came out perfect. Highly recommend Track Spec Motorsports products. Now my daughter is at her Grandparents and my wife and I will be having deserved date night.

I cleaned up the stock trunk and put on the stock wing while I address the hazy clear coat on the Vis carbon trunk. I will be using the carbon trunk for a more aggressive setup. I just can't wait till the car is all one color...

Well I have been working allot on the STi. I am trying to get the body worked out so I can get to paint (I have decided to paint the car as the stock paint is delaminating from the primer and wrapping it will not work as the paint is too soft). The 2nd motor is on the stand and will be getting torn down soon. I am just trying to enjoy the car during the fall weather before pulling the motor over the winter. So expect more mechanical performance parts post coming real soon. Also, I have some plans to do some more unusual modifications that I will get into later as far as the turbo kit and other things. anyway here is an update.
And I scooped up a AP V3 and a AEM wideband Last edited by stikid2005; 04-02-2020 at 02:24 PM. |

So I did a thing...
(Quick shot Working on the diffuser now better pictures to come) I am itching to take a cut off wheel to these fenders... I am about 3 more drinks away from ordering rims. But I would be divorced shortly after. Last edited by stikid2005; 04-02-2020 at 02:28 PM. |

How did you manage to check every wire? That must have been tedious... Also I found my 05' sti with the original motor and 87k miles for 12,600. I'm the second owner too.
