I disagree. In comparing engines only, the WRX engine is still the better one. The WRX outsells the GTI and R combined and it is modified at a higher rate, of course people are going to blow them up. There are also tons of GTI blown engines.

Whoa, we gotta badass here. A $150 MAP E30 tune in a 25K base WRX would give you run for your money. Enjoy that TD1 bud.

JB? If so, impressive indeed. Better than JB N54.

Bunch of past Subaru owners that jumped ship, realized the grass isn't always greener. Came back to justify their purchase. Happens all the time.

So why bring that up in this thread? None of what you posted has any relevance to THIS thread about a future model you can't compare anything to. It's just bitter nutswinging using rag racing. Get a grip.

Never did. Someone else that happened to jump ship got all upset.

Still nothing you post is relevant to this thread. Getting worked up defending your 2015 WRX purchase in this thread is childish. Look at the video of your 2015 WRX's time compared to the 2017 PP WRX. You should be more pissed at Subaru for offering a turd right out the gate. A turd you bought. lol

how many times have you had your car on a road course? ill enjoy 99% of the performance without the bone jarring ride, uncomfortable seating position, road noise like a convertible, superior seats, and a stereo thats better than a 1980's kraco cassette deck.

"As mentioned, to me the GTI feels painfully front-wheel drive. Not only is it plagued by torque steer, but there's too much understeer. The ride is too squishy, too. Needs more springs. All these bad feelings are compounded by the fact that if you can somehow get the GTI to start rotating, the nannies are right there and all too eager to tamp down the fun. The Golf R has slightly better weight distribution than the GTI (60/40 split, compared to 61/39), but the feel of the car is much more balanced. The recalibrated suspension no doubt helps, as does the power being routed to the rear wheels. You can be so smooth while pushing the Golf R hard that the traction and stability controls will rarely come on. This is quite unlike the GTI, where the nannies show up early and often, and they come down like an anchor. With everything switched off, the R feels about the same as it does with everything on, which is exactly like it should be".
