I got really tired of the Grids.. because of the stock offset I found the design uninspiring after a while and wanted something with more zing

Anyone know of a company making replica STi grills? My OEM grill is so old that it has dried out and half of the retainers/clips have crumbled. Loving the looks of your old bug Smurf!

I actually ordered mine off eBay... I hunted on NASIOC for both the scoop and grill.. bought the scoop form D Money, but couldn't find a suitable grill at the time.

Just know that if you order the unpainted version, you will wait almost a month for it to show up!

Dedicating this fall/winter to continuing the engine bay tuck/shave job and clean up some exterior issues. For now... here's a pic of the trunk setup:

Sometimes things have to get pretty ugly before they get pretty again... STi skirts are sold and wheels are off, time for changes.

Painted WRX skirts with spats, refinished wheels in a different color. Right now I'm rocking the ERG rear lip with unpainted WRX skirts.. looks pretty hot lol. Tempted to swap out the Prodrive/Vlimited with either a V1 or Greddy.

Also still need to cut sheet metal to finish up the engine bay shave job, finish extending the wiring harness, and repaint the bay. Many other small things here and there. Figured the 120K mike marker was a good time to clean things up.

A note for other five speed owners the other day - at Mach V's advice, I tried three liters of Motul 75/90 gear lube and a one-liter can of Subaru LSD oil for my (almost) tranny/rear diff 120K service interval. I must say, I agree - it did make a noticeable difference.

I haven't washed my Subi in over a month. But that's okay, because for my 30th birthday I was treated to a big box of parts from Mach V and things are going to be coming together QUITE nicely this week

In my order request to Mach V, I wrote: "If time permits, please draw a picture of a Mach V superhero in action!" -- here are the results

Real quality work Smurftastic and great drawing! You've really kept your bug clean and classy. Someday I'll get to cosmetics. I feel you on the "previous owner" ordeal. Everyday I find a new "surprise" in my car. Just yesterday I went to put a coffee in the cup holder and the whole assembly came out in my hands. I couldn't stop laughing. No screws whatsoever. A slight tug on the center vents yielded similar results

Thanks man, appreciate it. Overall goal was to modify the exterior to be something that was nice and simple, but not so ridiculous that I'd grow out of it over time.

Did the coffee spill all over your center console/shifter?

No I still had the coffee in my left hand Its just incredible how people with zero skill or even basic common sense are allowed to wrench. There should be some sort of test before you can buy a screw driver. My poor car has an Alpine deck in it. Seems to work perfectly fine but what are the chances its a total rats nest back there?

First change of many this week is swapping out some STi sideskirts for WRX skirts that I painted over the weekend. The STi skirts just don't go with the EGR rear lip.. at all. Also broke out the winter wheels and took off the STi foglight covers for the winter.
