I'd have to go to the bathroom and absent minded get up to walk away. In many ways I would not need to go to the bathroom anymore.

Yeah, that knife edge ridge looks like an awesome way to either have your foot slip, or rock crumble enough to end up straddling the ridge with sharp rock bits thru your taint.

I wondered the same thing and then I thought, “maybe he just tossed the camera instead of jumping?”

Tossing the camera would have been less stable. It would have tumbled more. Whatever it was, it was something with a much larger moment of inertia than a GoPro.

Risk of injury from that height is certainly high.

High divers / cliff divers can do it. But they have training on how to enter the water from that height.

It can also be difficult to judge the distance to the water from that height. So the person in the water is there for both safety as well as acting as a handy visual reference.

If the video was at the same speed throughout the hang time was ~5-6 seconds. No thanks.

I think it was slowed significantly starting from when he left the platform. The guy in the water, his arms seem to almost stop moving at that point. Of course, he could have just stopped moving them.
