Default o2 Sensors - front and rear - are they different?

Hi everyone. Need some help with an o2 sensor issue. I have an 04 TS wagon with a P0032 CEL code. I was planning on replacing the front o2 sensor. I looked up the part using https://parts.subaru.com/

the result i get is 1 part . part number 22690AA640. I ordered that part from local dealership. it was $200. The item i got from the dealership has a red jacket and 4 pin connector. the confusion started when i went to go replace sensor. the front sensor (which is what i intended to replace) has a yellow jacket. the rear sensor has a red jacket. It also looks like the front o2 sensor has a different connector, but i cant tell for sure because i have not been able to remove it. I was able to easily undo the electrical connector from the rear o2 sensor and that looks like the one from the dealership.

Ive searched and searched and cannot find a definitive answer for this.

My questions are.
1. Are the front and rear o2 sensors the same on this car? can the be swapped around?
2. if they're not the same, what is the correct part for the front o2 sensor?
3. how do you undo the front o2 sensor wiring plug? i tried for a while but got worried i was going to damage something so i stopped. The one tutorial i found has the stupid photobucket ransome photos up.

TIA.

Sensors are different. The front sensor is an Air/Fuel Ratio sensor, the rear is an Oxygen Sensor. Different operation, different plug.
You have ordered the O2 sensor NOT the A/F sensor.

BTW: You do not have an FA engine in your car, you have an EJ. You will probably get better help for you car in the Normally Aspirated Powertrain forum.

Thank for the info. Do you know if the P0032 code corresponds to the A/F sensor or o2 sensor?

P0032 is bank 1 sensor 1 heater circuit high. That would be the A/F sensor on the front of the catalytic converter - just behind the Y on the exhaust manifold. On that model/year there is only 1 bank for the exhaust so the A/F sensor is sensor 1 and O2 sensor is sensor 2.
