yep. this would work for any vehicle really, as long as the coupler fits on to the intake.

Not sure about your units there, are you saying you're only getting 0.08 MPa? That's 11.6 psi, so you're getting more than wastegate spring pressure. That points to boost leaks or faulty BCS. Simplest way to check the BCS is by unplugging it and going for a drive. If no change then the BCS is suspect. Otherwise it's probably boost leaks.

Btw to do the boost leak test I recommend attaching the tester to the intake just after the MAF. Much easier to get to than the barb on the turbo. Also make sure you open your oil filler cap and plug the extra ports on the turbo inlet tube (PCV hose, evap purge line, BCS vacuum reference, and any others except the big line that goes to the bypass valve/recirculation). If you don't unscrew the oil filler cap you will push oil out the dipstick tube. Ask me how I learned that.

Don't need to put too much pressure to test, 5-10 psi is enough to find most leaks. Of course if you want to make sure it won't leak up to 20 psi you have to put 20 psi in to test it, but in my experience you will find the leaks even at lower pressures.

If you have big boost leaks you will hear the air hissing out, but spray soapy water on every connection and you'll find stuff leaking that you never even thought could possibly leak. I found leaks at the fuel injectors, TGVs where they meet the block, and the Y-pipe on the back of the intercooler

Excuse my ignorance, what is the bcs? I feel like i was better prior to replacing my pcv, after putting everything together again i did not get the boost from before and the blow off valve was less audible; have to rev it hard to hear the air. I was thinking of replacing hoses with mishimoto kit, but wanted test for leaks first. I have 180k miles..

BCS is the boost control solenoid. It's the ECU's way of controlling boost according to the map you have in your ECU. It keeps the turbo wastegate closed as you build boost pressure or if boost gets too high it allows the wastegate to open to reduce the boost.

If you noticed a problem after doing some work on the PCV then I would bet your BCS is fine and the problem is likely a leak somewhere around where you were working.

You're right it's prolly silly to build this, lemme spray some soap in the obvious places first.

This may sound stupid but wouldnt it make the turbo spin when you put 14+ psi of air pressure through the compressor? Wouldnt it be bad for it? Its spinning without oil pressure..?

Spinning the turbo at high speed with no oil would be bad for it yes. You need a large volume of air to do that though. Pressurizing the intake system like this is very low volume and it is static pressure. So there is very little air flow. It's like blowing up a balloon and looking for leaks.

Makes sense. So the compressor would only spin at the rate of loss pressure (or flow)?

Yes. You probably won't even spin it at all since the flow is so low

Can anyone link me to what kind of tubing they used? Initially I bought a 3/8in OD tube, which was way off and was too big for the valve on the compression adapter.

Saw a post earlier in this thread saying to use 7/32 vacuum tube from Advance Auto, and the valve DID fit, but the actual tubing is much to big for the nut of the compression adapter to fit over.

Any insight?

Just because im a visual guy, i want to cap off the following correct?

Do i really need to cap off the vacuum line back to the BCS? Its an old hose i wanna make sure there is no tiny hole, will it hurt if i dont?

Sry to bumb up the thread, but I'm not really sure, what exactly to cap off for doing a save boost leak test (must go to 30 psi). It looks like, that not everbody do it the same way.
I attached two pictures. Do I have to cap off all marked lines + take off the oil cap? Can someone confirm that please?

And when I want to pressurize the engine directly into the throttle body, do I have to cap off only the Nr 4?

Lines...
1. boost solenoid return (why cap this off?)
2. hose vacuum to purge valve
3. hose vacuum crankcase breather lines to the left and right head (PCV)
4. hose (pressurize or vacuum) to purge valve (why cap this off?)
5./6. hose vacuum crankcase breathe middle (PCV)
