No code bad A/F ratio sensor
So for months now, I been having an issue with my stage 2 pro tuned 2016 Wrx. Started with bogging and missing, then idle issues. No codes at first then a Radom P0300 pending code, then a month later a pending P0172. So first I checked for air and boost leaks then I went at the MAF cuz I have Cobb intake. I found corrosion in the extension so I replaced it, car seemed much better then before. Then it started again so I replaced the MAF and it seemed fix! But NOOOO it was good for a month, then it started again. So I went back at it and found a stripped hose clamp on the charge pipe and replaced it. Still nothing so then I did some logging and could not read them cuz my Accessport wanted me to update to upload the logs, so no luck there LOL. So then I threw my OBDll adapter on and open torque app and started check stuff, which I know I should have done two months ago, but I am a little dumb sooo yaaaa. Soon as I test the 02 sensors, bingo front A/F sensor was not reading. So to make sure I ran it on my wife’s Crosstrek and senors were fine. Is it possible that my protune is stoping my ecu from setting codes???

Your tuner may have disabled some codes. If your rear O2 sensor has been removed, you may not get a code for a bad front O2 sensor, since that code probably relies on comparing the two different O2 sensor values.
You could always load up the stock map and drive around for a bit to see what happens. Just don't get into boost. |

Now this might sound kinda basic but have you checked / cleaned your intake filter at all? Dirty filter is USUALLY associated with MAF High Voltage codes but not always

Without datalogs you're just shooting in the dark.
If it's a MAF extension harness issue, clean them up and make sure it is corrosion free. Pack the connector with dielectric grease before reconnecting it. |

Your tuner can definitely disable codes from appearing (though with the new project green speed they shouldnt be able to... but we know how well shouldnt works with car guys Second, check your maf again, It is sort of common for bad intake filters to go through maf sensors faster than you can spell "C A T", clean the intake filter if you have one, or buy a new one, if the maf sensor is blown again it is likely the fault of the intake filter Yes it is possible for an O2 sensor to go out without a code but because of how the code works it isnt too likely, not to say its impossible though |
