I noticed how flimsy the stock piece is when I was rebuilding an fa.. too bad this wasn't available at the time.. bit of a shame that subaru went with a powdered metal rod on this engine. talk about flimsy! that oil pump payed the price!

Not in the near future, but it is on our list. Right now we've only seen issues in extreme track conditions. The FA oiling system appears to be a bit more stout than the EJ setup in regards to supplying our under severe corner loads, and it certainly holds a lot more oil.

Just noticed on your website, that there is an option to purchase a dual sender adapter. May I ask what that is?

It adds a secondary oil pressure port so you can run a true oil pressure gauge...SC

Thanks!

There are no post processes besides cleaning and inspection. Heat treating processes are unnecessary cost adders for this type of component.

Query, do these come with instructions of some sort? I.e. where the stock pickup is, etc.?

... on the bottom of the engine, inside the oil pan.

You're basically going to need to pull the engine to get to it. You might be able to do it under the car but you have to remove the header and turbo to get the oil pan off and you might still need to lift the engine to get the pan to clear the crossmember and pickup tube.

NOT an easy thing to do

They do not, but it's fairly straightforward if you have a FSM. Essentially, you pull the turbo/manifold assembly down and it gives you access to the pan. I will look under the car then next time it's on the lift, but I believe the engine does not need to be raised to get to the rear bolts.

I can't imagine someone doing this mod in isolation, but if you are working on motor mounts, header, turbo, or pulling the engine, it makes more sense.

When I did mine, I noted that you can get to the bolts without lifting the engine, but having that extra 1/2 inch or so that the service manual suggests lifting the engine, makes it much easier to hit the mark when replacing the pan with the fresh RTV.

It's subjective depending on your skillset and how adventurous you are. The first time I did TGVs on an EJ engine, I felt like it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r. In comparison, dripping the turbo off the FA engine, is a much easier job IMO. Again, this is all subjective.

As far as who is doing what when they buy our FA Pickup, I'd say it's pretty split between those that are building their engine, and those just installing the pickup.

Thanks guys! Will look into it, when I place the order for the pickup and then install it for next season.

Would you say its ideal to change it on a stage 2 protune setup? I.e. not pushing more than 320WHP for example?

Sorry for the late response, but no can do on the group buy :/

On another note, as some have noted (in this thread and others) customers have been reporting a decent improvement in oil pressure and AVCS sync. We're seeing more builders start to include this on their engines as well

Default Dual sender adapter threading?

Could someone tell me what size threading is used on the dual sender adapter? Looking to use the aem 52mm gauge, and the sensor requires a 1/8NPT threading...

I messaged KBM about this like 6 months ago and they stated it was PT so you'll need to use a PT to NPT adapter.
