The car had the very occasional weird idle for a few seconds during the tuning process. Bren said check for vacuum leaks but I found none. I'd say the car was running awesome 95% of the time so I didn't think much of it. Many months later the car has progressively gotten worse and worse to the point of it being almost undrivable. Checked twice more for vacuum leaks but nothing. Swapped the stock BPV for a Boomba unit but had to change to the idle issue. Finally switched the intake back to stock and flashed to an OTS map. Car was noticeably slower but ran silky smooth.

Reinstalled the aftermarket intake and Bren tune. AF learning idle was all over the place again and very rough idle. I don't know 100% that it was the tune but that's what I suspect: improper MAF scaling.
In Bren's defense, some intakes are badly designed and cause inconsistent MAF readings. What intake did you have installed?

It's a PRL unit. I have no real knowledge of how to scale MAF's/intakes and in Bren's defense the PRL intake was new to the market at the time. If he scaled it like the much more common ETS or Mishimoto intakes I could see how that would cause problems. But I now have zero idle issues with the exact same intake tuned by Clark.

I have the Cobb one and if I breath on my filter I have to alter the scale to match the saltered filter position. It is ridiculous

This is why I didn't/still am not out attacking Bren. Maybe it was some weird anomaly. Maybe he screwed up the tune. I don't know, so I'm not going to pretend that I do.

I really appreciate your input guys.

During this process I had an issue ...because the only system that work this my ECU is ECUTEK. (Im from south america), so not so many options to go. BrenTuning doesnt work with Ecutek

Ive end up going with Mikey Botti (amazing guy)... he took a while to get my first map (very busy guy), but you can tell he really is a pro in this matter ... he told me that there will be lots of revisions ...until the car is set. Also recommend to go to a Dyno to finish the revisions there.

You can tell when someone takes time on doing a custom map for you ... Im saying this because Visconti Tuning (John) took less than 60 sec to send me a map, and after 1 log ..he told me ...everything is fine .. you are set to go. The car felt fine ... running better, but I dont know ... nothing GOOD, its ever that fast (Im saying this because, I have experience in my ´14 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and doing the custom maps it took some hours of testing in the Dyno). Besides, been a little jerky about how he talks and treats people.

Ill keep you guys posted how things went with Mikey ... so far ... so good ...

UPDATE 12/04/2016

After 4 hours of work and almost 10 revisions, my E-Tune is finally completed.

I have to say that Mikey Botti is a great tuner, before and after the tune, it's just crazy different. Anyone that need an E-tune, u must call Mikey Botti. Besides his work that speaks for itself, he is also a great person, gave me really good tips on performance mods, what to do, what NOT to do and stuff like that.

Im a nightmare for any tuner, or shop, or whatever regarding my rides ...because I ask too many questions, sometimes a little bit annoying hahahah but its because I want to learn, and know exactly whats going on. Not many people understand that, but Mikey did ... hes very patient also LMAO.

This wednesday I'm going to a Mustang Dyno to see the numbers (btw, its the only dyno in the hole country LOL) and ill get back to you.

Thank you for all the help ...and for those who recommended Mikey Botti in the first place, I really appreciate (Thumbs UP)

Try Mtuned As well and i personally would stay far away from Bren, he tuned my car up in CT and when i moved to FL the car ran like ****, and i told him and asked to be re tuned and he wouldn't even look at my logs. told me my car was the issue not the fact the elevation/ humidity and temps are changed.

went to Mike Adkins (Mtuned) and the car has never ran better, gained more horsepower and car drives sooooooo much better ive never felt this car drive so good

Corbin Johnson is one of the most underrated Subaru tuners in the nation. And keep in mind he also holds like a dozen records for the Shelby GT350.

He works out of fathouse fabrication and turn in concepts and his own company Johnson tuning. He's been my tuner for more than 12 years for several different Subarus and one Ford.

He is as good as anyone. I've had a half a dozen of his e-tunes.

Best tuner ever in my opinion. Respect to Botti and JR. It's like 1a 1b 1c.

If you would like to know more then PM me
I have over dozen of stories where he actually helped me diagnose a problem sight unseen with the car while I'm halfway across the country with very limited information or pictures and he was ALWAYS. correct about it. It's really been amazing he also offers a nice personal touch and is a good guy I've met him in person I used to live in Cincinnati. Great dude. His customer service and going above and beyond is also second to none.

And for tuning talent and tunes alone he can stand shoulder to shoulder with anyone.
