Default Anarchy Motive (merged threads)

Hate to have to write this review, but wanted to share my honest and objective opinion about Anarchy Motive and warn other potential buyers.

TLDR: I ordered a custom 6 speed shift knob on 8/3/16. It is currently 10/31/16 (12+ weeks) and i still have no product, nor refund. Derrick has agreed to refund my money on 10/12 and still has not sent it. Per Derrick himself, I (the customer) am not worth his time, and he will send the refund "when he feels like it"

Basic timeline below:

- 8/3/16 - Ordered shift knob, confirmed that lead time is ~4-5 weeks
- 9/15/16 (1.5+ month later) - I contact Derrick to see if knobs are done. Derrick says they will ship the following week.
- 9/27/16 (almost 2 months later) - I ask to see if they have shipped. Derrick says there was a powdercoat issue, and knobs will ship starting 10/10 (already a whole month delayed, on top of the original month i waited)
- 10/12/16 - i check in on an update, and Derrick proceeds to state that at this point he "rather just send me a refund" because this is "not worth his time". Well, Derrick, this wouldn't be so difficult if the knob was actually finished as promised, many weeks ago.

Quote:
I'm sure it's sitting with the 200 other finished knobs. What's your address. I'm just going to mail you a check as a refund. This is not worth the time at this point. You're not the only customer, I have 136 orders before yours to go through and frankly I have other personal **** going on thats more important. So just send me the address and I'll mail you a check.
- 10/31 It is now 10/31, almost 13 weeks since ordering, and i still have no refund or product. My only fault in all this was I closed the credit card used to pay for the knob. Derrick promised to send a check and i have also provided him with a paypal address (same one used in ordering the item) that he could issue the refund through, of course neither has happened.

At this point, i'm not sure if i'll ever get my money back, which is quite unfortunate as i actually wanted this transaction to work out. I've read many negative reviews about Anarchy Motive in the past regarding his attitude, long wait times, or never receiving his product. Derrick claims in those same threads that these problems have been alleviated and that there was "no excuse" for his poor business in the past. Obviously I was fooled into believing him as nothing has changed at all based on my experience. For those who are in the marketing for a custom shift knob, there are other vendors who can fulfill and turnaround your order in a fraction of what Anarchy Motive would take (if they ever even finish, that is). For me, i went ahead and ordered a knob from Raceseng and received it 2 days later at my doorstep.

1/5 stars. Wish it would have worked out. Too bad it didn't. Would i ever get my money back? Who knows...

It was not the same email that you ordered with.

The card was not under the same name as the person that placed the order.

The check has been mailed. You'll have it shortly. I have a picture of it if you want.

I apologize it didn't work out. Enjoy your raceseng knob.

I never once said you were not worth my time. In face I was always pretty quick about getting back to you, within hours usually.

Yeah, I should have gotten the check out sooner. I am sorry for that. However, when you sent me a message a few days ago I did explain the circumstances of where I was and why I hadn't sent a check out. I said I had more important personal **** to attend to at that point, it was not a "you are not important" comment, and I apologize if you took it that way. It was an at that moment comment and not an I don't value my customer. Given the way I wrote that I get why you may have taken it that way, I am sorry for that.

I handled it wrong and I apologize.

The card is under my name, i am looking at the charge on my statement right now. The shipping address, like we discussed already, is under my SO's. The email address is mine as well. Regardless of all this - the refund should have been handled in a much timelier manner.

I get balancing work, business on the side, and personal manners is not exactly the easiest, but this could all have been avoided weeks ago.

I apologize it had to be escalated to this point in order to get my refund, but unfortunately it is what it is.

I don't know...maybe after the check arrives and has been deposited you can file a claim with your credit card...ohhh wait, you already did that.

Thanks man.

HAH! Are you really bumping this thread? Don't you realize that the only thing you're hurting is YOUR OWN BUSINESS? Real professional Derrick. Now, you come back months later, making up lies and slander.

Filing a claim after i deposited the check? FALSE. As we already straightened out in our private messages, i filed a claim BEFORE YOU SENT A CHECK, as i had been waiting weeks for a check, that you (obviously) had no intention of sending until i took this public. After you had sent the check, i immediately called my CC company to pause the claim, which, unfortunately out of my control, they did not. After they ruled the claim in my favor, i spent another HOUR on the phone having them to reverse the claim so that you can get your money back (you're welcomed).

In no way was i ever trying to steal from you. I can't say the same for you to me though. If anyone has any doubts, i have proof, screenshots, and letters with all this documented.

Once again Derrick, this could have all been avoided if a) you actually sent me my merchandise in the time agreed (although i gave you 2 extra months already), or b) you sent me my refund in a timely fashion instead of making me wait weeks for it. No one to blame but yourself.

1/5 stars? No, you deserve a 0/5 stars for both service and maturity.

Okay. Your paperwork and my paperwork can disagree. Not sure why you need to bring this back up. I have no intention of ever doing business with you again and i'm sure the same for you with me.

I'm very happy with my raceseng, that i received in 2 business days from time of ordering to arriving at my door.

Free plug for raceseng for those who actually want to receive their shift knob! http://www.raceseng.com/auto/subaru

Happy holidays also and hope your attitude changes in 2017 for your own sake.

I dont get it. Sounds like you got him a refund check. (albeit ridiculously late) and he reversed the credit card claim so you got your money as well.

Your score got settled, obviously you two wont be doing business.

What exactly was your point in bringing this old thread back up?

That's the hang up. According to my bank it's still in limbo. If he did, great. If not, oh well.

I saw this review and made an account just to contribute to the review of Anarchy Motive.

I ordered my shift knob 8 weeks ago. After about 5 weeks I contacted Derrick who said it would ship "that weekend." It didn't, big surprise.

The next week, same thing, "it'll ship early next week." Third week rolls around, now 8 weeks later and I still don't have anything.

I sent him an email, mentioning a charge back after one more week. So, he cancelled my order.

After thinking about it all day I realized I never bothered to see if he actually refunded my money or not. And upon checking my bank account, big surprise there, no refund or anything issued.

He's now been reported for fraud and I'm getting my money back from my bank.

Hopefully more people see the reviews of how this guy operates. He sent me a picture of my shift knob today saying it was shipping but since I mentioned a charge back he wasn't sending it to me because "people who threaten charge backs do them anyway and I lose the money and product."

Do not do business with this guy. He is a straight up clown. And preys on people who do group buys and don't care if it takes 9 months to get an order. Anyone that orders on their own is on their own.

As someone who's in sales, maybe you know that credit cards/debit cards don't refund instantly.

Your order has been refunded, and your order cancelled.

Also funny how much you left out.

You may want to remove personal information from that before you regret posting it. And it's funny you have that because nothing was or has been changed with my refund from everything I can see and that my bank can see.

Easy, cowboy.

It was your name. Not your SSN, not your height and weight, just your name.

So it's okay for a business owner to post someone's name and there location?

Besides it being unprofessional, most forums have a rule where you cannot post someone's real name. In general, that is just a *****ty thing to do.

At least I have something else to tell everyone in the Subaru groups I'm in about. That this dude will post your name online with your order like that is somehow okay when orders should generally remain confidential.

This guy is just a petty POS.

You need to take your tinfoil hat off and relax.

It wasn't being petty.

Fixed, happy now.

Oh, and AGAIN, proof it's been refunded.

For someone in sales you seem to have NO clue how banking or credit cards work.

PayPal is the only immediate refund option, and that's not how you paid.

I ordered my shift knob probably around the same time you did.. Did it take awhile? It did. But whenever I messaged him on Facebook, he was quick to provide me an update. There were some shipping issues, personal life, and other things and I understand that. My knob I got was good, but had imperfections. I am still waiting for my replacement, but being patient.

If anyone does choose to go this route, just don't expect same day shipping. You are ordering a custom product and it takes time. I'm amazed at the awesome knobs that he is pumping out and mine was legit on the engraving, but had some imperfections which we are resolving. I would order again. Just don't expect same week shipping on a custom piece since it is a small business afterall. Its well worth waiting for to get the exact knob/design you want.

Default Anarchy Motive Woes

I'm bumping this thread back up to warn others about ordering anything from Anarchy Motive. I really wish I had read this thread before ordering. I placed my original order on 9/27/17 Paid the invoice right away and waited patiently for months. At the end of December I reached out
March rolls around and I've waited 6 months at this point and offer some options on how to resolve the transaction.

What ensues after this is a long email chain that I will gladly forward to anyone interested where Derrick blames the post office for holding onto packages for up to a month before shipping them, sent me (per my request) tracking information with instances that seem to corroborate this claim. After waiting weeks for it to ship, I began a charge back on my credit card, which I later (regrettably) cancelled when he promised me it had been shipped. During this entire time, I contacted the post office a few times and even spoke with a representative on the phone who assured me the package had never been accounted for.

As of May 4th, 218 days since I ordered this is where we are at.

Trying to keep opinion and any teeming frustration out of this review. Just presenting the documented facts showing what you might be in for if you decide to order from Anarchy Motive.

EDIT: I have since requested and been issued a refund. Sorry it couldn't work out.

Got it today. Ordered and took a little over 3 months to arrive.
The good news is that it is perfect and better than I could have wished for as far as finish! Heavy, fit perfect. Have not driven yet.

Owner always answered my e mails in a timely manner. Just took a little longer than expected.

FYI, my phone camera does not do it justice.

Looks awesome.
Mine took over 3 months as well, but it did arrive and when it did it looked amazing.
The titan knob feels really good when shifting - the extra weight sure is nice.
To my disappointment, when the knob is fully tightened, the logo on mine is practically upside down. Other than that.... I'm sure there is a fix for that. But I assumed that it would be correct.

Thanks for the feedback - going to try using some loctite and see how that works out. In theory, I shouldn't be removing this knob again now lol.

But like I said - the knob turned out better than I was ever expecting. Hopefully this will do the trick. Sorry to hijack the thread.
