Default 2004 Outback suspension fitment question

Hello, all.

I have a 2004 Outback (Legacy base model, 5-speed) in fairly desperate need of suspension overhaul. The car heaves and bounces over undulating bumps, making things rather dicey - especially at speed. I'm quite new to the Subaru world and hardly know exactly where to start. I've checked the threads I've found via search and I haven't found anything very useful.

I plan to replace struts/shocks, springs, bump stops, sway bar end links, and other perished parts I find in the process. I'm not looking to change the ride height at all; just refresh to "as good as or better than new." I'd fine with a "little" lower ride height if sport springs/coilovers are on the menu, but I'm going for handling, not aesthetics. All my other cars over time have either been on factory sport suspensions or on H&R lowering springs & Bilsteins so I'm used to being able to keep things pretty flat in the corners.

I'm eyeing something like this for shocks/struts/springs: https://jdmracingmotors.com/en/subar...ensions-04-09/

These appear to be Aussie-spec bits so any wisdom on whether the fitment works on a 2004 U.S.-market Legacy Outback wagon?

Also, looking at the Subaru suppliers online it appears that the sway bar end "links" are rubber bits. Is that true? Though that might be useful for light off-roading, that's not remotely on the menu for me. Does anyone offer solid end links that fit?

I'm not looking for "modding" suggestions; I'm just looking to make the weekend bike schlepper/snowmobile handle better.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't think the ones you linked fit. I think these are the US model 05-09 years. JDM cars often start the generation a year earlier.

Your 04 brand new was a bouncy Buick to begin with. (I owned an 02 Outback from new and an 04 Outback from 45k miles), which are similar. I think going the H&R/Bilstein route is a good one. The tough part will be getting stock ride height springs. Even just new OEM end links will make things better. I took a look at our 04 and the links in the front were completely broken. Knowing that removing the front bar increases oversteer, I just left it like that. I still have brand new end links if you want them cheap.
