Default ACT Monoloc Collar, anybody use one/heard anything?

I did some searching and it doesn't seem like it has been discussed really at all on NASIOC except for this closed deck torture test from outfront: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...php?p=40068085 There are split reviews there but no discussion regarding the monoloc solely.

I'm just wondering who (if anyone) has used one or heard of one used and if it worked well or had any issues, etc. Also, if the stock unit/wire ring has failed on anybody and monoloc was their savior

Video from ACT for those who aren't familiar:

I use one on my car (swapped out my old ACT clutch that lasted 6 years for a new one). Installed the monolock during that time, been about 5k miles since. I beat on the car daily, no issues with it that I am aware of lol.

Just put the return spring on the clutch fork like it should be and you don't need the monoloc setup.

I planned on the spring, with or without this monoloc collar/ring.

I'm bumping this to see if anyone has anymore insight, it appears this monoloc ships with ACT pull style clutches for Subaru now so more people should be using them I'd imagine.

Default Back from the dead!! ;)

Well 2002 usdm wrx sedan here... Had an Exedy stock style cage retainer and center pp diaphragm section fail/fall to pieces... Numerous tabs or retaining ears on both pieces are sheared... Bought an ACT monoloc and TOB/CRB to fix the Exedy’s problems... I have to pull the pressure plate, decided to slide the trans back this time :/ And see if I cannot get the monoloc to hold the Exedy center section together, and seat the TOB/CRB yet!? May need another clutch kit unfortunately... As the center section cylinder won’t stay in place to click on the monoloc! Calling Exedy tomorrow... Going to pull PP and see if the monoloc can hold it all together, I guess and decide from there... If it’s shotty firmest, and not held tight, I’ll get an OEM clutch kit... But I got a dang good deal on this stage 1 w fly ;p 200mi on when I got it, 1.5yrs of hard driving, and maybe 10k? I guess do it all right the 1st time and not worry $$$ + time :/ I’d probably still throw on the ACT monoloc on an OEM Exedy for piece of mind, if I had a few doll hairs to spend, now knowing what could possibly happen on a pull style clutch!! Live, Love, and Learn by Experience...

Best mod you can do for a pull style clutch TOB.
