I got an 07 2.5i sedan and was wondering if the brackets are identical to WRX sedan or Sti.
I daily drive and quite a bit of several hour trips and my back aches and my butt is sore because the fabric feels really hard and I just got coils.
Two questions:
1. Are WRX/Sti and 2.5i seats interchangeable and 2. What are some recommendations for decent aftermarket seats?
I don't track or autocross my car, I just want more comfy seats that still will grip me when I'm 100% driving the speed limit through mountain roads.
1. seats interchangable between most. iirc they started adding side airbags to either the 05 or 06 onwards imprezas.so keep in mind the connectors needed.
2. can't help you there as i don't have aftermarket seats. most of them would be geared towards racing so it might be lower than the stock 2/5i/wrx/sti seats.

as for comfy seats, try some v7 sti seats or older version where you can see the contours for your legs. the same year 2006-2007 sti or wrx seats are almost the exact same in terms of the side bolsters and the seat.

the 06-07 wrx is the same fabric as the 2.5i but you get the sportier headrest style as the STI.

The STi seats has alcantara suede which feels nice but doesnt change the bolsters in any meaningful way. the suede does keep you in the seat better though.

the seats should swap, as they are the same chassis, and the mounts are attached to the seat. people swap wrx and sti all the time. 2. I got a pair of Braum seats, they have different models and different cloth and leatherette materials. They are decently priced, come in pairs, and what separates them from other lesser cost seats is that they are TUV approved. The reason i bought them was the stock 04 wrx seats were too small for me (long legs) and the seats wouldn't lower far enough. They come with seat rails, but you need seat brackets to mount them to the car. I bought Planted Technologies brackets. Recaro's are awesome but are expensive.

Default 2006 Impreza RS wagon seats into 2002 Impreza obs

Hi all,

I'm interested in putting 2006 Impreza RS wagon seats into my 2002 obs. I have read this entire thread and searched the forums and am still unclear.

My understanding is:

2002-2007 front seats are interchangeable.

2006 into 2002?

Thanks for any clarification.
Cheers,

Jamil

Sorry, that second part was meant to be:

"2006 rear seats into 2002?"
Thanks again

If I recall the seat brackets changed for the GD chassis in 06/07, so an 05 wouldn't even fit into them.

I知 parting out the interior of my 2002 outback sedan and someone is wondering if the leather seats will fit in a 2003 WRX? Does anyone know if they bolt right in? Front and rear or just the front?

They changed in 08 - anything 01-07 is interchangeable but 06/07 had side impact airbags so keep that in mind if putting an older interior in a hawkeye.

Hi all. I am helping a friend with his 2013 impreza daily driver. No, frils, nothing special. However the back rest is falling apart.
What is compatible? The local yard has only 2004 - 2011 imprezas? What else can I grab an entire seat from or failing that, what back rests are compatible. Thanks

Default Broken seat belt coupling 98 Impreza

hey guys new to this forum, I've got a 98 Impreza wagon and my r/h side seat belt coupling has busted on me. I'm looking for alternative options as in will a forester same year arm coupling fit my car? Or is the screw thread different? Also can I maybe get away with a later years impreza coupling?
Cheers.

Default 04-05 Forester Rears Into 06 Wrx Wagon?!??

I have heard its direct bolt on. The seats look like they have the same exact mounting points.

Basically 04-05 Forester seats into GD Wagon

I'm doing this because I want to do a leather conversion for mine and the good luck finding rear wagon leathers...

Thanks in advance!

I was curious if VA seats would be mountable in the GD chassis even with light fab work

Looking to swap my stock 07 2.5i Wagon front and rear seats with 04/05 black WRX/STI seats. From what I understand, front seats should swap easily with some modification required to get the airbag sensors working. Would it be easier to remove the 04/05 seat from the base and swap it to the 07 base?

Anyways, I swapped 97 Legacy GT seats into my 90 Legacy LS keeping the 97 rails. The rails bolted fine. I had some seat belt issues so I decided to use the 90 rails with 97 seats. The 90 rails where a little shorter so I dremmeled the front and was able to bolt them to the 97 seats. I then dremmeled out two holes on the outside of each seat to connect the lap belt holder to the side. If you need specifics please ask.

I plan to take the 97 Legacy GT seats out and use 91 Legacy Turbo seats instead. The second generation Legacy seats aren't designed as well as the first generation units. Comfort is far higher with the older seats. I ESPECIALLY like that some first gens have Vertical AND Horizontal adjustable head rests

cybin: Your overly worried. You dont mind driving a vehicle with 15 gallons of extremely flamable liquid but you want to take out the HEAVILY regulated air bags that have never just deployed for no reason?
Hey so I知 having issues on trying to figure out how to swap a wrx seat into my drivers side only but I don稚 know how I知 supposed to connect the air bag to the wrx seat since the plugs are slightly different can anybody give me any solutions on here

I have a 06 wrx seat (drivers only) and Wanting to transfer it to my 08 impreza 2.5i but the air bag clip is different and I was wondering If there is any way to transfer the air bag to the wrx seat. and maybe even modify the back braket aswell or even swap it From the oem seat. is there any solution here? can I leave the air bag unplugged or will it mess up my whole system? Can I try to crimp or solder the wires? But that seems wrong lol just trying to see if there is any solution to this fitment issue. I知 new to the forum sorry if I知 doing stuff wrong

Default Seats/Wiring Harness

Do the later model 2008+ wiring harnesses in the floor board allow you to swap seats from cloth to leather? I have seen a few seats for sale but not sure if the seats would maintain the warmer if I swapped them.

Default WRX/STI driver's seat in 2017 Legacy?

I have a 2017 Legacy and the driver's seat, while very nice, is too loose and floppy for me. Can I replace it with a driver's sear from a WRX or STI of the same year? Thanks!

STI seats of same year should bolt up in a respective Outback or at least with very little modification, i.e, swapping seat tracks first. Pre 2018 outback seats are pretty bad. Been thinking about doing it as well, so many recyclers parting out STI's the seats arent hard to come by.

Thank you ever so much, NighthawkSTI!
I don't have an Outback, I have a Legacy like this one in the photo below. Would it be any harder to put an STI seat in the Legacy than an Outback? Thanks!

1st time poster / lurker!

I've got a 2010 Hatch that has some Sparco buckets in it right now. I'm looking to swap these out for something more reasonable and something that actually fits me and the car, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what will fit.

What dimensions do I need to look for? Is it mainly the seat sliders? I did find a 2010 hatch at a pick n pull, but they're not willing to tell me if the car still has the seats or not, and I really don't have the means to drive an hour there and them not have the seats.

Looking for advice / options on what to do next! It's my 1st standard car and I could ride with the buckets, but I don't feel comfortable having to stretch my leg / foot to the max to get the clutch in.

Thanks!

Default 07 seats in an 04???

Car: 2004 2.5RS with no heated seats

Donor: 2007 WRX Wagon with leather heated seats

I've been trying to read up as much as I can, but could only find backwards compatibility. Main thing I'm worried about are the airbags and heated seat wiring. Should I pull the seat harness from the donor vehicle? Plug in original harness (if it's the same plug) and splice the heater controls? Any info asap would be greatly appreciated before I pick up the seats

EDIT: I've done some more reading on forester/WRX forums and this what I found

06/07 Limited WRX seats on 04 Limited Forester XT
Quote:
The heater and airbag plugs were exactly the same. The WRX seats usually have the passenger airbag sensor in them but the seller took it out for his new pair but 04/05 Foresters don't need it anyway so it's all good.
Got this from a WRX forum
Quote:
There are weight/seat-belt sensors in both the front seats... even in 04 models.

The weight/air-bag thing I'm not sure about in the 04 but that weight/airbag feature was created protect smaller kids/people from being injured by airbag deployment.

And no, there are no seat heaters in the 04s.
So what I'm taking away from this is I need to get a heater plug/harness to plug into the seat, and splice that into the car/heater controls?

Possibly there's more sensors in the 06/07 seats? If this is so, I'm assuming simply removing those sensors in the seat would be enough
