Default JDM Legacy 2.0GT Trans - 2003 WRX Wagon

Howdy yall. First post! I have a 2003 Sonic Yellow WRX Wagon that is making terribly loud gear noises. The trans does not pop out of any gears or slip. Just replaced the clutch and added Amsoil Severe 75w-90. A mechanic said it is likely to be some trans bearing. So I found an trans locally from JDM West Side. It is from a JDM Legacy GT 2.0 with 4.11 gearing Ty757VBBAB. It comes with the rear diff for $650 + tax. I want to sell the car and cannot let it go to someone else with a bad trans. Thinking this will be my most painless and quickest route to go.

My question is will there be ay issues with the wiring interface between my USDM harness and the JDM trans? Missing or extra plugs? Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers

The one issue that you might find will be with the speed sensor. You'll need to research whether it has an internal speed sensor like your WRX trans or if it was at the hub like many Legacy's have.

if it isn't too late already... that tranny is a push type. I wouldn't get it. I'd stick to a pull type JDM 4.444 from late 1999-2004 WRX. Better clutch system and better gearing.

But if you're not looking for performance, get another USDM WRX tranny.
