Exedy stage 1 enough?
Hey guys,
Decided to go from a billet wheel VF48 to a BPT TD05-18g on my 05XT. Car is completely apart right now and I did have an Exedy stage 1 clutch ready to go in, but now I'm worried its not going to be enough. I'll likely overshoot the 300-310wtq capacity I'm seeing its rated for, but probably not by much. Looking for opinions on if its worth selling and getting a bigger clutch. It's my "other car" so it really only sees some weekend errands and spirited driving. TIA

I had an Exedy stage 1 hd with my 16g xt and it held up fine. When I moved to a 20g xtr, it wouldn't hold it.
Went to a South Bend stage 2 daily. Feels so much better than the Exedy and holds the 20g xtr no problems. This is on a 2.0 engine, so the power levels may be a little different. |

5 speed pushing power... stay wimpy unless you don't like your trans gears. Anything more then say act organic and your gears are likely to give up. As well the harder you drive. Start saving for 6 speed swap.
