Misfiring/no boost
Quick Story:
One day after work while I was driving home, I came upon a roundabout. As I made the right turn, my engine started to bog out. The engine felt like it was losing power and was slowly stalling out. When I got home, I checked the code and it says that I was misfiring on cylinder 1. The motor idles rough and shakes. So I replaced the following: -Injector -Fuel Filter -Coil Pack -Fuel pump - And cleaned the MAF sensor No luck. So I had a tow truck tow the car to a shop to be on the safe side. Took it to a reputable shop and after diagnosing it, they found out that the harness wire underneath my driver side fender, was a bit chewed up. They fixed it and said it was good to go. When I picked up the car, the car ran fine and hit boost normally until 20min after. The CEL started blinking and the engine bogs out on WOT. I then called the shop, and they said that I have a burnt valve. I was losing compression and have a leaking valve. They said that I needed my head done, which will be around ($3,500) So the question is, will a burnt valve create this issue? At the moment, the engine runs smooth on idle and while cruising. No hiccups or stalling. The only problem it have, is when you're WOT and trying to hit boost. It hesitate when you WOT and hits about 3-7psi of boost. The CEL only blinks and come on when you WOT. After clearing the CEL with the AP, you can drive the car for many miles without the CEL if you granny it.

Might help to list your car...
Since it's turbo'd, have you checked for boost leaks? |
