Welcome to the first episode of Ask COBB! This episode covers the ins-and-outs of Subaru AccessPORT Data Logging and analysis to determine the health of your car and your tune.

This video is in HD, so for best video quality, be sure to select 1080p resolution and watch in full screen!

Remember that Off-The-Shelf Maps, including High Wastegate and Low Wastegate alternate maps can be downloaded from our AccessPORT Map Database at http://www.cobbtuning.com/subaruotsmaps. are you going to possibly make a video list of how to properly use the Accessrace tuner software that you allow AP users to download directly from Cobbtuning.com? I have it and can't really make heads or tails from reading and I really don't want to destroy my engine, and do you have any info on how to datalog and create maps for the 4EAT that my wrx has?

I tried to do a datalog and when I hit okay to start it it just kept saying trying to connect to the ecu. Any idea why this happened or how to fix it?

Thank you. Now I would like to upload my data log to get it analyzed on NASIOC until my tuner can look at it because I'm having an issue that I can't figure out and I need replies to post a thread... help?

I installed my stage 2 and my car shut off while I was driving. So I was told to uninstall it then try to reinstall it. Also I was told to check the ground wire to see if it was connected correctly. And to disconnect my battery to try to reset the ECU. I did all this and now I can't get my car turn over. I tried to reinstall the access port after rehooking my battery up and now I can't get power when in the on position. Could it be the battery or something else

Good try. You should be making a new thread. Not latching ok to someone else's.

And yes, the map notes and instructions clearly state to make sure your battery is fully charged so it does not die during installation.
Some people go so far as to put it on a trickle charger while working on the car with the AP.

Exclamation Tuning?

Just replaced my short block with a newer one with forged pistons and bores.. will I be needing a tuning? Or can I still use it as a DD.. for a while?

Does anyone know if when you do cobb stage 2 is there anything else you need to do with that modification or is everything that comes in the box is what you need.

Default How do I send maps to a Tuner?

I have tuned the Stage 2 to my 08 WRX, but I need to fine tune it so that the car is recognizing and adjusting not only to the Colorado Climate of 6,000 + elevation and humidity, but the modified parts other than the down pipe and axle back exhaust. I have bigger headers and up pipe and that's something that the off the shelf map might not take into account. I could be wrong or over doing it but the last time I got the tuner in (before I did new headers/cams/valves/gaskets) the Stage 2 tune seemed to be piggy backing on the stock ECU the wrong way and ended up giving my car a really low idle, almost to the point of stalling! I could specify more details but that would be a long story. So, how should I go about this COBB Tuning???

PS. If I'm in the wrong forum, please redirect me.
