Oh yeah... Jason and his friend were very nice to show me where to get the best gas around. Curt, I think we both need a rematch with Ethan...yeah side by side baby...line 'em up. All three cars on the line. I was nice to drive your car today. It was definately nice and your shift kit feels great. Could feel the difference without a MBC though. I may go with a TurboXS MBC too. I spiked to 18 or so psi on the way home from the dyno test...err. Dang controller. My car is adujsted perfect now. I am happy with my torque band too. MY OBD scanner is on its way so I won't worry about CEls long when I get my A/F and Dual-EGT meters. We need a chip though...I don't think I can make a TEC-II work on my car.

Ahem! That's brother Dave. And yea, 94 octane certainly makes the car feel like a new animal! Check your work email, I sent you an idea I came up with today.
As for everyone else, it was nice meeting you. My DSM club is mostly full of snobs, and you guys are too nice! Even though my GSX woulda whooped your guys @sses! j/k |

Oooooooo. Thems fightn' words DSM'er. Actually I would have loved to see how our cars compare to a mod'd DSM. Good to have you out there. We love to get people from other clubs involved in our obviously superior group.

You know, I can't help but notice how similar those graphs are to a 2g DSM. Especially the timing plots. I am thinking that with a properly tuned AFC and larger injectors (what size is stock?), You guys can probably run about 250 (or more!) HP practically stock!
When you modify the factory sensors (IE Lean it out with an AFC or equivalent), your ECU is going to see less air. If you'll notice, at the beginning of the run, the timing is way up there. That's cruising.. Then the gas is floored and the timing drops way down (how low was that? 4-7 degrees? That's the factory trying to keep you from blowing up your car. If you tell the ECU that you are only pulling in say 3/4 the air you are, it SHOULD (anyone got an AFC with larger injectors yet? )give you a LOT better timing, hence better response, more power, and more over all fun. All you need now is a real turbo BTW, i have found your guys bolt on upgrade that is not a crappy IHI....... |
