Sweet car.
I cancelled my order for the MBP after seeing a silver one next to a MBP sedan. Just my opinion but the blue didnt look as good in real sunlight.
Picking up my new car in a few hours... Merry Christmas to me!!!
Congrats! Glad it worked out for you!

And I agree, it was hard to pick a color without getting to see it on the car in person. I am going to pick up my CRP sport limited tomorrow, I'm so excited to see it in person!

Cool

The Crimson Red Pearl is gonna look good in person I think. Yeah I really wish they had one in each color. But I really did like the silver so it worked out well. I don't tend to wash my car very often.
I love the soft cushy seats and the uncluttered dash is very nice. The first car I've seen in a while with a dash that isnt hard plastic. Nice.
It really is smooth and comfortable. Power was adequate although I didnt really get on it too much, I knew this was going to be my car. I believe in a nice eady break in with all things mechanical.
I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Today, I test drove a Subie,
whose AWD did suit me,
a few minutes at the wheel,
I knew I had to make a deal,
and I lost about twenty grand

Merry Xmas!

I had many email interactions with SOA about this, and they told me to bring it back to the dealer again for a more thorough examination. Again they came back to me and said the airbag system didn't have any codes and that the system was fully operational. Brought the car home and washed it, an hour later I found condensation in both front headlights and one of the rear taillights - not a happy camper. I was told that since there were no codes and they couldn't replicate the problem and the airbag system is functional. A week later goes by, and I got the airbag light on AGAIN. This time I took it to the dealership and they scanned for codes and found that there is something wrong with the passenger seat.
I have experienced the same problems in my Impreza as well. Got the airbag light once at around 400 miles and haven't seen it again (up to 700 miles). If it happens again I'm definitely taking it to the dealer.

Keep us updated on what they find out.

I was shaken awake by the phrase "I called them out on it" which you use multiple times.

A less bad-ass dude would have said, "I brought it to their attention," or "I mentioned it."

Good enough to get the idea.

I like that color and would have ordered it myself except for the ivory seats. My normal filthy self would have those things stained before the first oil change! Practicality dictates dark upholstery for my cars.

I like the DGM best but my cars spend a lot of time outside and the California sun just bakes dark cars.

Just got the call from the dealer today that our CLF has arrived. Though we will need to wait until next week for the master cylinder job to be done.

Ordered first week in October.
No ETA or VIN e-mails from SOA.
Located in Midwest, port was Vancouver, WA.
The dealer has about 8 on the lot, I think only one was not marked as sold.

Default Picked mine up last night

Here's my sage green/silver sport premium. I ordered in the middle of November and picked mine up 12/21. My dealer said they don't have the sportier spoiler I was looking for and they'll contact me when it comes in.

Ally315 - Nice wheels! Haven't seen that color in person yet but those photos look great!

Can't wait to install my accessories and post updated photos of my ride.

BTW, anyone receive their supposed SOA gift certificate for the $500 in accessories as part of the Impreza pre-order deal? My dealership didn't have much info and told me to expect something in the mail.

Just thought this might be of interest with regards to the condensation in your new Subie headlamps (it may be expected as per this link):

Our CRP limited sedan is ready - should pick up Monday. We ordered 10/31, told January delivery. No emails from SOA - I asked the dealer about the $500 "gift" and was told to expect it in the mail after we received the car.

Anyone know how the Sport Grille is installed? Does the entire bumper have to be removed?

I just got home with my new car!
They gave me the all weather package for free to sweeten the deal since they knew I'd ordered a different color. Its a low volume dealer so I think they were just happy to sell a car today. Im jazzed!
Now I'm off to put some miles on it. My new mandolin just came in so I have to drive to my parents place to pick it up. Its like christmas day over here!!

Could be a front passenger seat mat sensor issue? We'll see!

Reminder: The 2012 Impreza is featured along with the Ferrari 458 Italia tomorrow on Motorweek. Since, the cars are in the same class except for a quarter million in price, and a minor 0-60 time difference, we're in good company. Hey, the Impreza has got more seats and probably gets more than twice the fuel efficiency. The 458 just can't keep up.

"After all, both have the same heritage:
Polish- Derived from the Italian word \'Impresa\' meaning badge or motto; Celebrate, party. Also a model of a Subaru motor vehicle."

And, if you believe me, I have the Brooklyn Bridge for sale.

Hey I was going to post pictures of the two tone sage green/silver tomorrow -- too dark now!

I just picked it up today, 5speed impressions: The gearing is very tall. I tend(ed) with my 5speed Elantra to shift up to 5th quickly, in this car 5th gear is really for 45mph+ or the engine lets you know!

Overall I like the car a lot!
  • For the person who stated the keyhole was offcenter. The keyhole is not "offcenter" nor it it truly centered, I don't think the keyhole is connected to the plastic cover that can be moved around freely with your hands. So in my case I noticed it was not centered in the plastic opening, but moved the plastic around and saw why.
  • My steering wheel is slightly crooked -- the car alignment is fine but the fact they didn't have the steering wheel centered when they did the alignment is not good.
  • The tires were overinflated. I asked the salesman before I drove it off the lot if they were correct and he assured me 'it is part of the checklist". Obviously is is the part of the checklist that they pay no attention to other than checking it off.
  • Those are my first impressions. The stereo needed bass, mid and treble adjustments for sure but sounds fine to me. Iphone bluetooth is flawless.

Try this link from the Subaru tech site:

Lots of good info if you plan to do your own installs.

So did I notice correctly on the Subaru site while building a 2012 Impreza that if I get a black/dark gray Sport hatch that I CAN get black leather interior? Otherwise straight black is only ivory interior, but straight DGM is black leather interior.
