What size tire is this, or what would you recommend on a GD? My fenders are rolled and am on BC coils

We'd recommend a 245/40R17.

Love that color, this is the silver?

Would these wheels in 17s be a bad idea as a winter set on an STI with the 6 piston fronts? Concerned about snow/ice buildup damaging the brakes with the minimal clearance on the fronts. I'm currently using my stock 19s with snow tires, but I'm not really looking forward to putting those back on this winter. 19s are pretty rough.

I doubt it would damage the brakes, but there is definitely the possibility of buildup. It's hard for us to recommend the 17's for street use with the 6-pot Brembos because the clearance is so tight.

We've got plenty of other 18" wheels that would work well, including the 18x9.5" Wicked Awesome wheels, or various 18x8.5" Rota and OEM Subaru wheels.

I PM'ed you a bit back, but would you happen to have a number on what you observed for barrel clearance on the 6 pots with the 17x9 Wicked Awesome wheel? I have been researching quite a bit and having a number to go on might help me decide whether or not the risk is worth saving the weight and tire costs on 17's vs 18's, and I figure it might help others as well.

It's tight! Like...3mm? Enough that stick-on tire weights will run into the caliper if they are in the path.

Dan, having trouble deciding between your Wicked Awesome and your Crucial wheels for my red 2019 base WRX (has the 17x8 235/45/17).

Is there a Crucial gallery too? If so, I'm headed over there right after I complete this post.

I plan to run a 265/35/18 G-Max AS-05 on either 18x9.5 and once these wheels are on, they're on and will be my year 'round wheel/tire here in SW OH.

I guess worst case, I can turn the OE 17s into a dedicated winter set; just depends.

Cheers.

Hi Dan,

Do you have any recommendation on touch up paint for the gold wheels?

Thanks!
