Got an 18 WRX here. When tuned on a 50/50 blend with a Snow Performance setup I gained 48whp over my no methanol tune, going from 286whp to 334whp. In my opinion methanol was very much worth the money, especially because the closest station with ethanol is about 45 minutes from my house.

You guys are gonna hate me a tad however backing down my build...
Core: New Stage 2.5 closed deck (in my possession)
Going 93/Meth..and the FP Black XR BLACK 82HTZ
Front mount IC
Killer B Holy Headers
Tial EWG
I like Killer B's idea...stock valve size.
Looking for advice wise: good valve/spring choice
fuel pump
injectors
Obvious tidbits like TGV delete/CAI...etc I already know
See if I can do 420 on this setup, I think that will suit me. Can't swallow the extra $8K to go rotated and crazy...Feedback greatly appreciated! (Be nice)

FP Black is too much turbo if you want 420whp. A good billet 20G or something like a 30R can exceed your goals with better fitment and way better drivability.

420whp with pump 93 and meth: 255-300lph pump, 1000-1300cc injectors, valvetrain needed depends on power level and rpm.

Just get a Dom 3 or an FP blue (BB or JB) and call it a day. The FP black is too large for your goals.
