Differential Setup for 6spd Swap
So quick background details, I'm swapping a brand new 07 STi 6Spd transmission into a 2005 Impreza WRX. The input that i'd like from the lovely forum audience is your input on the differential configuration I'm planning to set all of this to:
Front Diff: STi 6Spd Stock DCCD: DCCDPro Spiider Rear Diff: R160 w/ Cusco RS set to 1.5Way, 80% lockup, Stock Preload. My configuration goal is that I need the car to be a daily driver, but also perform on track and autocross.

The r160 should work fine, as long as you're not doing frequent aggressive launches or shock loading. You may want to try a lower preload/lockup if it's going to be mostly street to cut down on rear tire and axle wear/chatter.
I'm running a similar setup in my car that gets used for autox or weekend drives 90% of the time. I have an '06 6 speed, with a r160 Kaaz 1.5 way set to 100% lock up in my '04 WRX (I haven't measured breakaway torque in it). The unit itself isn't too noisy, but the inside axles tend to clunk in tight, low speed turns (parking lots and driveways) especially if they're older and already a little worn. I've heard the Cusco isn't as bad, but it still may be a nuisance for a DD. Less lockup in the rear would probably be preferable at autocross as well, but I wanted to try it out of the box. So far I've been pleased as it's solved my lifting the inside wheel power delivery problem. |

Should work fine as long as the diff matches the final drive
