I believe there is a typo in this article. I believe the car with Trust turbo uses TD06-25G not 20G. Could this be confirmed?

Also little more technical information regarding the cars you cover would be nice. I did noticed it mentioned that the specs are hush hush (proprietary) EJ25 block with Spec C heads built by JUN and that the car idle funny making you think it has different than stock cams. But did you even ask the details for the turbo? The turbine housing size (8, 10, 16 cm^2)? It mentioned it uses the stock spec C twin scroll manifold. How about the up-pipe? In other words how had they got from the Spec C header to the hot side of the TD06. What about the down-pipe and how it was mated to the Fujitsubo cat-back. How about injectors? Trust Monster wastegate...what size spring? Type of fuel they use? Boost curve? F-con V pro it then mentioned "with reflashes available in Japan they choose the piggy back? Since when F-con V Pro is piggy back? To best of my knowledge it was a stand-alone? (http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=1965)

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1265254

It seemed they shared in detail regarding their suspension set-up and it said they will tell us how to convert to RWD. So I'm not sure the above questions were asked and not answered as they were proprietary or they were never asked. If it is the later and you have a open part time editor position for mechanical engineer that can ask these sort of questions equipped with a Japanese translator...send me a PM Also I visit Japan once year so there could be even more opportunities.

I'm not knocking your magazine, it is great to have you out there...but if you want to set yourself apart from some other publications details such as above are what makes someone like me to buy/subscribe to your magazine.

Cheers

There was a bit of a language barrier so some of the details were a little difficult to parse out.
The turbo is indeed a 20G, not a 25G. Also, they would not talk about certain aspects of the cars since they are race cars that compete and so they do not want to give away too many details, like engine internals and cam specs, boost settings and tuning parameters. Also, these cars are different than the cars they race in Japan and are detuned with smaller turbos and 2-liter engines.

According to our translator the engine management system Team Orange uses is a piggy back. According to HKS "The HKS F-CON V Pro is a fully featured standalone engine management system that connects as easily as a "piggy-back" fuel and timing controller." This could just be an error in translation as the team did indicate that the stock ECU was still in place.

According to the team, the manifold was equal length, they made no mention of twin scroll. The turbos are rotated so they do have custom made up and downpipes.

The point of the article was not to be a hardcore "how to build a drift STI" piece but a feature on some cool cars. Again, some details were not shared and perhaps some of the errors in nomenclature were just that. I was constantly reminded by the translator that technical Japanese is difficult to translate into english. The link you posted to the other nasioc post is not the same car that was in Subiesport.

I followed that drama. Even spoke to Jon after it folded. Made an offer, he refused. Anyhow...

It's easy to do it online. We'll have a 1-2-3 how-to up soon, but the gist is basically just click on one of the features, if it requires a subscription it will prompt you with a login, register (if you haven't already), login, access the content again and it will promt you to create a subscription. Select the subscription, check out with paypal, hit RETURN TO SITE, and you're good!

It's really much easier than reading here. Give it a shot and it should make sense.

I was able to pick up all eight issues of Scooby magazine from the UK. I've got a nice little collection of Subaru mags going along with all issues of Subiesport and the Subaru published Performance mag.
