Default EV system won't ready. Can't pass smog.

So I have an 01 Impreza Outback Sport. Ej222 na with a 5mt. I replaced the alternator so my ecu needed to recollect all the systems data, but for some reason my ev system won't ready. All the rest are. I've driven about 400 miles since the battery was disconnected, most of it highway, but a lot of in town as well. Full tanks, half tanks, low gas, etc. I've scoured the web, followed drive cycles, but nothing is working. There are no dtcs, just the one system that won't ready so I can't pass smog. Any ideas?

Default ev reset

This is what google said, I have no idea.

complete the following drive pattern: accelerate to 50 MPH, drive for at least 3 minutes without braking, decelerate to 30 MPH, then accelerate again to 50 MPH, and drive for at least 3 minutes again without braking. If you end up having to brake, then you have to start all over again

Hmm, that's slightly different than the drive cycle I followed from a post on here. Worth a shot. Gonna be difficult to find a road that allows me to do those speeds though. Maybe the freeway tonight when no one's on it.

Hopefully it works

From what I read they claimed a battery disconnect before hand should help.

If you do that ALL monitors will have to reset - not just the evap monitor.

I would question this: Does California not allow you to pass if all but the evap monitor is set? Many states the weather is too cold for an evap monitor to set for several months out of the year due to the 50 degree and above requirement to test evap. Even here in Tennessee you can pass as long as all monitors are set but one and the incomplete monitor is not the catalyst or O2 monitors.

Still haven't been able to figure this one out. There's no diagnostic code, but the EV system is red which indicates an issue. I've tried replacing the gas cap, hoping it was just a bad seal, but no dice. My registration is up in ten days and I need it to pass smog asap.
