Cuz the stock sway bars made it feel like a boat . Even just cruising around a turn.

You could have saved yourself some cash and just bought a stock Impreza if you drive like a grandpa.

LOL- because you think people post when their warranty takes care of the problem, right? FWIW- I've never had warranty denied, nor has any of my fellow-Suby friends and family.

All this complaining about warranty denial is bs. I blew an engine, covered by warranty. Blew power steering pump, covered by warranty (at stage 2). Even had rotors replaced under warranty. Be calm with the dealer, and 99% of the time they'll take care of you.

Name: J

Make: 08 WRX

Mileage: 74,900

Time Out Of Use: Owned for 8 months. No issues in summer.

Problem And Likely Cause: Possibly - smaller o-rings from 2007 model put into 2008 models causing more airflow and causing the car to run lean when cold outside.

Modifications: None

Submitted For Warranty Work (Yes/No): Yes

Reason Given For Denial: No issues found

Your Story: Engine shake after cold start under 35 degree weather. Leaving it sit for 15min (without moving it out of the garage or touching the gas pedal) seems to run fine after that. I've had it almost to the point to where it seems like it is going to stall out so, i rev it up a bit so it won't. I let it sit at the Subaru dealer from Friday to Monday and they could not replicate the issue nor find any air leaks or anything like that. I mentioned the o-rings but nothing else was said after that and it might not be covered under warranty?

Your car has almost 75,000 miles. What warranty coverage are you expecting?

I'm assuming you have an extended warranty? If so, what's the name of it? Also, where are you coming up with the 07 rings in an 08?

I don't know who backs that warranty but even under the original, I guess if they can't duplicate it , how can they get it approved for repair? Also - check that warranty to see if it covers wear in the engine. A lot don't cover lack of compression, etc.

Catback. Submitted For Warranty Work (Yes/No): Yes, waiting on response. Reason Given For Denial: None yet. Your Story: Had the car for 4 months, it never felt right. This is not my first subaru and it just didn't feel solid. Cruising on the highway at ~75mph and a check engine light came on. Pulled off. Car died. Tried starting it, shook badly. Mechanic pulled over and towed me to his shop. We pulled spark plugs and found signs of a detonation (melted tip on the spark plug). Swapped them, gapped to .30. No change. Compression test. 30psi cyl 3, 110 cyl 4, 149 cyl 2, 155 cyl 1. Invented new cuss words. Towed it home. Bought a little pos DD. Waited for the holidays to pass. Turned in to dealer. Got berated by wife for buying 40k car and it breaking. She told me no more subarus.. That's how bad it is.
why does it feel like there is a lot missing here? Are you running a stock tune?

Why would you let a guy with a shop who happened by you and your broken car do anything vs getting a tow right to the dealer while under warranty?

Where'd you get the info about what the prev. owner had done? Did you buy it from a dealer or private sale?

Did you buy it private, from a Subaru dealer or a diff. dealer. Having only had it for 4k miles, I'm wondering if there's help for you with the seller?
