Got a little impatient myself, haven't taken any days off of work to go to the dealer yet, wired it in with a temporary switch in the coin holder (fuse panel) so I can switch it on and off, turns on and off automatically with headlights/parking lights. Still going to be going to the dealer, I found an option that you can change the region of the SSM software itself, so just one more thing to try.

This is an OEM Subaru RHD switch bezel, into which the factory electronic start/stop ignition button-switch is fitted. I replaced the OEM LHD upper right bezel with a blank for cars that have a ignition key-switch (below gauge cluster and to the left of the radio).
The fog-lamp switch to the right of the gauge-dimmer switch is used to turn the rear fog on and off. I have the front fogs wired as both DRL's and fog-lamps (when the headlamps are on). I decided against trying to source an EDM OEM combination switch with the rear fog-lamp feature and then attempt to go to one of the local dealers to have them change the BIU setting from USDM to EDM or equivalent. It's not worth the headache for me and I really don't have the time to do so. So this option works very well for me. If you have any questions to please PM me. IMG_0718 by Eric S, on Flickr I also obtained (another) electronic flasher relay from Autowindow (Tap Turn) in Canada. I now have the park-only feature; departure feature; 4-way wig-wag; 4-way strobe. Last edited by Big-E; 08-30-2017 at 06:06 PM. |

Bumping this up, as I'm scheduled for my 1st oil change and plan on asking my dealer about making this change. Has anyone actually got this to change? What other options are there in there? I wouldn't mind changing some of the displays to Celsius and if possible the digital speed display in the main display to KPH. Does anyone have a link to the full service docs on this? I don't mind paying for a day access pass on the Subaru site to download what I need.
I'll hopefully be able to get a EDM stalk later this summer but won't bother unless the steps below actually work. Also any tips on how to approach the dealer with a request like this? Thanks! Quote:

Has anyone installed or seen a rear foglight installed on the 2015+ Impreza 2.0 Hatchbacks?? I see the small cut-out space in the bumper on the rear, I'm wondering if I can fit the foglight in there on my GF's car... hmm...

Determine whether two items are present:
1) The outside is a fitted cover and not part of the bumper-cover itself, and 2) There are mounting tabs present at the under/back side of the cover for mounting the lamp and the bracket. |

Two questions for anyone with knowledge of wiring the foglight/brake light to work when your front foglights are on.
1) I have the Subispeed F1 V2 which comes with the toggle switch to turn the strobe feature on off. 3 wires. Black to ground, Yellow to brake light on driver side harness and Red to positive on fog light harness. I was intending to have the light ONLY functional when my fog lights were switched on. This partly works in that the fog light portion of the lamp (lit solid red) only comes on when I have my front fogs on. Just realized that whether or not my front fog lights are on or off the rear fog still lights up as an additional brake light when I use my brake. I guess I was thinking that sending positive power from the front dogs would act like a relay in that power would only be supplied when the front fogs were on. Any other way to wire it to make it function like this? 2) Anyone have the Subispeed fog light extension wire/harness? Does the harness work the same way as above (when the fog lights are off, rear fog light is off BUT still works as a brake light)? Thinking I may need to install a relay ahead of the rear fog light to get it to work as intended. |

Rear fog without using factory fog spot
I wanted to have front and rear fogs that could be operated independently of any other lights. I also wanted to reserve the factory rear fog spot for a hidden hitch. So I took inspiration from my Volvo S60 that uses a light in the rear driver's side cluster for the rear fog. The key to this rear fog implementation is installing the $40 Diode Dynamics Tail as Turn module . This uses the parking lights as turn signals and frees up the factory spot. Usually that spot is used as an extra reverse light, but I simply used the driver's side as my rear fog. The Tail as Turn module provides a pigtail for freed up light, which makes it super easy to do this mod. Since I was also installing front fogs and I wanted to operate them independent of the rear fogs, I had to order a 2nd fog light switch for a BRZ from 86speed for $19. Since my 2016 switch panel doesn't fit the BRZ fog light switch I had to order a 2015 one that does for about $8-all other switches transfer over except for the dimmer switch, which I picked up a used one from ebay. The bulb I got was a 21 led red light for $30 and it provides the perfect brightness. To wire it up, the 86speed switch also came with pigtails. I used an add a fuse to connect the red wires to accessory positive, black to ground, and then ran the yellow wire back to the pig tail on the Tail as Turn. Since the bulb is running under 1 amp I figured I didn't need to use a relay. So, for about $100 I got a rear fog, tail as turn, and I still have the option to have a hidden hitch. Now it isn't as "cool" as some of the disco light rear fogs that are sold for the factory spot, but it works for me. Last edited by redhunter; 07-06-2017 at 02:52 PM. |

Rear Fog Light 2015 STI
Nicely done. I loved the rear fog on my C300 (same as what was done here just came from the factory that way). It was perfect for when ******** tailgated. Just turn it on and 98% of the time they got off my ass because they assumed I was braking.

Does anyone know if anybody sells a F1 Style redflector to attach where the f1 light would go? I am not interested in having a f1 light. The look of the red reflector would work and possibly cheaper.

Rear Fog
Hi there,
Just finished installing Rear fog, wiring and switch just came in, trying to look for the thread (that tells where to wire it up) but can't find it, was wondering has anyone used the illumination fuse to tap a Littelfuse FHA200BP ATO Add-A-Circuit Kit. afaik, the thread states that he used the cigarette lighter fuse, but I have my GPS plugged there so was thinking I could use the illumination fuse ~ 7.5 A. thanks in advance! |

So question... which wire of the four is the one that communicates to Instrument Panel for the "Fog Light" to appear when button is pressed. Its working when pushed and plugged up right now... but haven't cut the Yellow/Purple or the Black wire to connect to rear fog just yet... and guessing one of those might hinder that from occuring.
Behind the dash panel that has the dimmer switch you will find the fog light switch harness/connector taped up to the harness from factory. Pullback the black wire loom to expose the 4 wires coming off this connector Also noticed the foglight icon on instrument panel only comes on when the lights are on... |

Been trying to comb through all these replies, but didn't see exactly what I was looking for.
I have the tail as turn module installed. I have the JDM/OEM rear fog light with a older plug n play wire that requires 2 t-taps. I tapped into the wires in the tail as turn modules so that I don't touch the OEM harness at all. Following the OEM Black(ground) and Brown (positive brake) wires into the tail as turn module, i tapped into those wires and then hooked up the brake light. So far so good, this one only turns on when I hit the brake. |

I'm very curious if you finally got it working with the BCU in the European mode with the indication on the dash. If so, did you had to do any other changes or was changing it to EU enough with all the extra hardware needed to switch it on and off? I'm curious because I'm foreign military who has a MY16 Sti which I want to bring back home to the Netherlands and we are required to have a working rear fog light. Thanks! Mike |

Bump!
Anybody got it working with the BCU changed to EU setting? If so, did it need any more customization? Mike |
