I ended up going with centric premium rotors, and girodisc ss pads, along with ate 200 fluid from kns brakes wonderful set up. now if I could just get a little more money in saving for some decent tires that aren't all seasons.
what tread wear would be good for street and autocross where I could get around 20k out of them. Last edited by nemos_black_wrx; 07-21-2018 at 10:20 AM. |

I don't think there is such a thing as a tire that is good at Autox that you can daily and race and get 20K out of them.

RE71R I've seen get about 10k miles if you're single driving and doing a single season of autox on them (10-11 events at 4-5 runs an event). But DDing and autox on a single set means you'd be buying a set every 8k-10k miles. If you're getting 20k out of them that means they've hardened up and aren't really competitive any more.

Buying 2 sets of wheels and having a race set and DD set is the cheaper way to do it.
That way you end up getting 1 year - 1.5 years out of a set of race tires and getting however long out of your DD set. The investment up front hurts a bit because wheels are expensive most of the time, but you end up getting more out of both sets if you have a targeted use for both sets. |

Is anyone competitive regionally or nationally in BS with a 15+ STI? How about in STU?

I won the Pittsburgh Match Tour event in BS with my 16 STI 2 years ago we actually had nice weather all weekend for that one too! Also won my region that year. We had a 2 other fast guys in AP2 S2000's that I would consistently beat too.
I think it's going to be a really nice fit in DS next year and should make for some fun racing! (I'd want a 19 though) |

If STI is in DS, is WRX moving to GS then?

Link to anything stating the STI will be in DS? I am not doubting it but I would like to see something confirming that. I ran DS in my 12 WRX and it did fairly well, only lost by a couple 10ths at the last local event I did with it. although I cant say the competitors I was against were top notch and I am far from it myself.
Once I get enough driver mod done in the RA I am eager to see how well I can do regardless of which class its in. |

I'm going to try my new RA in BS next weekend. Will still be on stock tires though.
I'll probably wind up in ST-U though... Hard to keep an STI stock and I want to do some basic reliability mods at least. |

I still don't get how the Civic Type R is in DS where it has no competition. For crying out loud the Integra Type R is still in DS and cant hold a candle to it with equal drivers. |

Example, almost everything that isn't a true sports car and has a front engine V8 and rear wheel drive is in FS. On the potential BS to DS change for the STi... The Focus RS is doing great in BS and it's likely to move to DS as well. It's probably going to decimate there. But the CTR, Ecoboost Mustang and turbo-4 Camero are tough competitors. |

So I haven't really been paying attention to SCCA classing lately, but the fast Track notice proposing the STi move to DS got me wondering about my 2011 WRX. Do they really think the WRX and the STi belong in the same class? Is there a move planned for the WRX that I just don't now about?
Thanks, Scott |

No moves that I know of, so you'd need to write a letter about the older WRX to move it. Anything prior to the 2015 was kind of dead in the water anyway so build a case and show it's inferior.
Not that I think it'd do that well against the current GS cars either. |

Looks like the changes are probably going through considering how Fastrack pasted this all over Facebook today.
Interestingly it doesn't list the 2018-2019 models. |

see that is exactly what i am talking about, half the people on here say its legal, other half say nope.
there have been a few in my region w/ short shifter (DS), but i have been finishing ahead of them, so i figure no biggie. mobdro lucky patcher kodi but what i am curious about, is has anyone asked for a ruling on it from SCCA? If not, how would I go about asking for a ruling on it? I don't personally have one, but would like to put one in. If it knocks me out of Stock, then I won't do it. I am being on the safe side and not putting one in til i find out for sure (dont want to cheat anybody) |

If you have a serious question or need clarification I would suggest writing a letter to the appropriate advisory committee for a full response that's not just opinion. Link for letters to be written is here: https://www.crbscca.com/ |
