Default 2004 STI Steering wheel swap into 2004 WRX

I recently swapped a 2004 STI steering wheel into my 2004 WRX. I kept my wrx's cc switch and retrofitted it into place. However, my wrx's cc switch has a ground wire coming out of the cc switch for the horn. There is no corresponding spade on the STI wheel for me to plug in that ground....so I made one. Problem is the horn is always grounded now and the horn won't stop.
My question is what is the work around for this? I know people have done it and as far as my research uncovered I shouldn't have had to do any wiring/splicing. Anyone have a solution?
