I'm sure it's a marble of technology, great for the track, great for FWD fans.
Now make a RWD/AWD sports car instead of driving the wrong pair of wheels forcing it to do multiple-duty. |

I'm aiming lower. Just offer it with a black interior and some 18 or 19 inch rims.

Give us the Sport that Europe gets, though the wing on that one looks stupid but at least it's more subtle. But since it'll be a third car anyway, I'd just rather have a GT350. |

Either that, or a hatch SI. The sport hatch looks really cool. It just needs some more performance.

Hopefully the next hatch will come in Si form. I drive 25k miles/year so a Type R isn't in the cards. |

There are plenty of $45 to $90k performance cars, why do we need yet another one? Keep the Si at $24k and the Type R at $36k. Honda gets it. |

Honda doesn't get it, it is taking the easy way out. |

Yeah, they do need to do that. Hopefully making the Civic fun again is a step in the right direction. I think there was a long gap where the high revving small four cylinders weren't competitive - now that they've gone turbo you could see another sports car. I'd rather they do a V6 but those seem to be getting rare too.

My first car was a '00 Si, which ended up with a USDM Type R block (crate motor from Honda); I love an N/A Type R, but I also love my CTR boost and all. I hate the fact they made this limited edition CTR yellow. Last edited by SatinWhitePearl; 07-10-2020 at 01:12 PM. |

Of course, shedding a bit of weight would help with the power deficit of a naturally aspirated power plant. Yeah, I would happily have signed on the line if we got the same motor as the Mugen RR - N/A and all. I had an '06 RSX-Type S with all the bolt-ons and I've yet to experience another N/A Honda motor that felt as angry, all the time, as that one did. |

I thought Type R was the limited edition. They've created a limited edition of a limited edition.

This isn't news if you have followed the Type R forums but how well these cars perform on a track is highly dependant of the track. This car needs long straight ways to avoid overheating in warm weather;

You're right though - people with huge aftermarket radiators and cut up hoods still have problems controlling heat. It's clearly the one serious knock on the Type R. |

If you haven't driven one, you're missing out. The praise behind it is fully earned. It's lighter, it's considerably faster than WRX/STi, absolute razer sharp steering and turn-in.
However..WHEELSPIN WHEELSPIN WHEELSPIN WHEELSPIN....all.the.time. I was paralyzed with indecision on January between a 2020 Type R or a 2020 STi, because really the Honda is a really damn good car, is much faster, and doesn't have reliability concerns, I've driven them in warm weather on good summer tires and still had plenty of wheelspin, so I was worried if it would be miserable in fall-spring on cold pavement with all seasons. |

You made the right decision. I’d take that archaic EJ over the CTR. Now if Honda puts the AWD system on my truck in that thing with torque vectoring rear half shafts, I’m interested. Their SH-AWD is outstanding. They need AWD and tone down the F&F looks and you’d have winner. Let’s see what Subaru does next year. The killer is going to be the mfr who buys GKN’s Twinster and puts in on both axles. Whomever does that is going to have made the GOAT if the engine is decent. My RS was phenomenal handling. I’ve driven some very expensive cars and I can think of nothing that could keep up with the RS on a damp windy road. When the fronts torque vector as well, the thing will be glued to the road in any weather condition with proper tires. C’mon Subaru, your move! |

Koyo makes a larger capacity radiator for the CTR; that'd be step 1 for me (along with the usual brake fluid and brake pad swap).
