Can't believe post 9/11 would be considered "The good ole days" to what we have now.

Slight shock when I realized I'm looking at RC/miniature engines for $2k in that pic. Money no object there are a few model engines I'd like but it would still be hard to get over having driven real cars for some number of years for less money.

It's nice to see we all are the same. Americans and our german counterparts having run the ranges between 'let's join a neo-nazi gang' to 'let's join ISIS!!!!'. What really counts is they saw what they wanted and they made it happen.

For context, this is a recording of Congressman Hank Johnson on the floor of the House discussing labor unions, combined with Totally Accurate Battle Simulator.

This may be evidence that gender is not binary.

I have heard that much of the virgin olive oil is not real. No idea if "much" is correct but wouldn't have guessed and not surprised the mafia had their hands in it but assumed just getting cash out of it here and there not having set up their own fake olive oil brands.

good times

I'm of the age where I'm 100% sure that if incels had easy access to olive oil, extra virgin or not, they wouldn't understand what all of the hype is about leading to them becoming volcels. Not saying they wouldn't give olive oil an honest chance if their mom, co-worker or friend hooked them up with a bottle suggesting they were pretty sure they'd enjoy it. But they wouldn't stand in the grocery store looking at 20 different brands of it wondering are they different enough to justify taking up 1/4 of a large grocery store isle, pretending they are is the $10 glass bottle really better than the $2 plastic bottle eventually just getting one that's bottled in glass then settling with stuff in the plastic bottles next time using the same logic they use to buy gin, "yes I can taste the difference between the stuff in the glass bottle versus the plastic bottle but I just don't care". But they do get a slight kick out of the thought a place like "Pier One Imports" would have a decorative vase that either looked exactly like the glass olive oil bottle if it wasn't actually the very same bottle but empty they would sell for $20. $10 + getting oil of questionable origin is really a fantastic deal in that context.

But on the bright side all of the time wasted with olive oil is easily clawed back in the meat department grabbing one pack if not two of every nationality of johnsonville sausages only ever being disappointed because their Polish sausage is hard to find if they even still make it. It wouldn't really dampen the mood of the sausage party they're getting ready for but they do still day dream about the last time they had Polish sausage in their mount then dreaming about it later that night calling out for Kielbasa. The sweet Italian is secure enough knowing it's just dream and not worth getting upset over. But if you did that with a plastic bottle of olive oil you'd be lucky to wake up in the morning if you didn't have to spend four hours in the middle of the night explaining dreams to them as if they made it this far in life not having one of their own to understand they are normal and meaningless. That's what you got say while knowing if you knew where you could find that Polish sausage you'd leave right then.

I do sometimes wish for an IOT oven.

"sometimes I put a potato in the oven. Not because I'm hungry but by the time it's done cooking, who knows" - Lag - citizens of Heidelberg - Mitch Hedberg

But seriously, it would be nice to preheat the oven before getting home. A side benefit would be reading about all of the accidents happening because someone in the house uses the oven for storage when not in use. I do not know what would lead someone to store their loaded gun in the oven but it's fun to read about if first, second or third responders don't get hit with bullets while trying to put out a house fire. **** forth responders.
