I Am Dead Island?

It's almost 2012, anyone can render up some fancy cutscenes, let's see some game play. I'm sure it will be pretty epic if Naughty Dog goes all out, this could be one of the last great zombie games.

I can't beleive it's only been 3 years since the first Left for Dead game came out. They have completely raped this genre and wrung it completely dry of anything new pretty damn fast.

Zombie games make COD look like a game that strives to blow your mind with new and innovative games.

I think the big issue you run into with zombie games is the entire genre leaves little space for changes.

They took clips from here. If you look op's trailer @ 1:20 (in the guys mouth) and 1:50 (the guys head) you can see something similar to this fungus effect.

More Olympic sprinters turned into zombies? Fantastic.

Why does every zombie game with potential seem to miss the point of a zombie outbreak? If you want to make an action game with fast monsters, go for it. You don't need to steal the zombie outbreak scenario every time though.

Who's saying they're zombies? The game trailer didn't say they were dead. They allude to some sort of outbreak, a collapse of society in general, and a few survivors struggling to make it in a world that's full of diseased savages.

It's supposed to be a fungi that infects the brain and causes different things. Quite excited for this game.

Oh and

for the whole "The following trailer is captured from a PS3 system". SO WHAT its a freaking rendered video, how about "the following trailer is captured entirely from in-game gameplay". I hate this desperate "PS3 or Xbox are still on the edge crap". I'm a PS3 user and I realize that they can't keep up anymore, I mean the graphics in-game never have HQ look as they do in screenshots.

Unless i'm wrong and Naughty Dog is just trying to imply that the cutscenes will look fantastic in this game. I'm curios about the game, because of how good the Uncharted series are, not because of the video.

They're getting really, really close to CG quality graphics for gameplay. There were a couple of environments in Uncharted 3 that looked photorealistic at times.

It seems like the 360/PS3 have been out for ages, and still no new console announcements. Aren't they nearly two years past the average console life?
PC's already looked better when they came out, and now a budget system will make them both look pretty meh.

It appears so far this is a PS3 only title because they are dedicating their nut swinging to that system only. If it is, I urge the developers to pull their heads from their asses.

I'm just tired of being disappointed by getting hyped and excited from this kind of videos. Its same thing as it was with games 10 years ago, really cool rendered video as an intro to the game and then the game, which looks nothing like an intro(Need for Speed series, MoH). Last few years, now that game's actual graphics actually look like or better the rendered videos from before

, you see in-game cuteness and trailers. Now it seems we've gone full circle, cool rendered videos with the actual game looking nothing like it (Dead Island, Deus Ex ect)

I still like and enjor these games, but this video shows nothing, like it was said, anybody can make a cool video. I do like that its naughty dog and I hope they truly make it into a survival game and not just another shooter, especially with the post apocalyptic theme they're going for. There was another game being made "I'm alive", but it doesn't look like it will ever come out. I love the post-apocalypse theme, and got high hopes for Naughty Dog.
