What's my rehab gonna look like?

Doc say no weight bearing for 2 to 4 days and pretty much back to "normal" in 2 to 4 weeks.

Seem reasonable?
for a meniscectomy even WBAT immediately is not unreasonable.

hell, I went WBAT and ROM as tolerated similarly immediately after my meniscus repair (with repairs usually having a more involved recovery in exchange for a better long term outcome), and the surgeon was even on board with it too due to what part of the meniscus she repaired.

once he got in there he found 2 more tears other than the horizontal tear from the MRI.

The 2 tears were on the inside and outside edges. Exactly where my pain was.

He cleaned up those tears and relieved some tissue in the middle near the horizontal tear hoping that would make room for some healing.

I was putting light weight on the the first day or so. Disposed of the crutches after day 3.

Been working on ROM with PT since last thursday. I've got 10* to recover to get it straight. Bending I'll find out next week. Missed PT yesterday as I'm sick as a ****ing dog now. cough.

My muscles have atrophied considerable these last few years of compensating. I'll have a lot of work to do to get back to what I'm used to doing.

Already feeling the benefits of less pain when walking.

Left knee is prolly gonna happen this fall as my deductibles will be met.

I had sinus surgery on Wednesday to shrink some tissue blocking my right sinus under my eye. I honestly didn't realize how it was affecting me. I always had sinus pressure and constant sinus infections. I could never really clear the right side.

Wednesday night I could finally breath thru the right side. I even was able to do a bunch of work this weekend without feeling like total crap. Aside from the bloody nose Thursday, it was pretty easy with no pain.

I'm ****ing cursed or the universe is telling me to get the hell out of the land of magic underwear. Doc thinks I have MRSA and started me on meds while we wait for culture test. It's pretty ****ing gnarly looking. The absolute worst part about it***8230; it's on the shaft of my schmeckle. Damn thing looks like a can of soup. Doc said if it spreads to somewhere else other than the shaft to go to the ER.

Guys, if the doc tells me the schmeckle has to go, I'm going. I'm cashing in my chips, buying a GT3RS, a bag of the finest Colombian bam bam, a bottle of Blantons burnout and going out off a cliff into the sunset. Out of all the possible places, how the hell does it happen there? All I can think of is changing into hospital scrubs that still had MRSA, and maybe a Knick from shaving. Regardless, this **** ain't fun.

Thank god the urgent care doc was a dude

I have a lot of questions. I hope this turns out well for you. If not, you might be the first person to get a horse schmeckle transplant.

If you work in the hospital I would assume that you have been already colonized with MRSA. We didn't even isolate patient who were MRSA+.

I would be concerned that it isn't MRSA as the actual 'cause' and that you have been colonized already and that the culturing of MRSA is a red herring.

Good luck.

Well, so far, surgery was a success. I can finally breathe through my nose. I've been a mouth breather for so long, lol.

Similar to what women get when they transition to a man......an "AddADickToMe", also spelled Addadictomy.

Imagine the fun of looking in a catalog and picking what you want.

As to godfather.....good luck, hope it's an easy cure.

Good luck.
Going on 11 years in the hospital / OR / surgery center setting, so yeah, figured I had already been cultured. But how and why it happened there is beyond me. HSV, syphillis, etc have been ruled out. Doc gave me an injection and antibiotics specific to MRSA, swelling has gone down some in less than 24 hours. Still not digging life though. It’s semi comical so I have to laugh a little.

Little confused on 2nd sentence. Are you referring to an STD being the cause or some other health related issue?

I wouldn’t be surprised if more people are bit on the schmeckle by black widow and MRSA wang.

My wife got MRSA so bad, she had to be admitted for a few days. She got hers right below the waistline.

Not an STD, but perhaps some malignancy or something wacko. Every now and then things do happen.

But, let's plan on the antibiotics working.

Fingers crossed these antibiotics work. Pretty sure if I had waited until the weekend, it would have been a trip to the hospital. The rate at which it grew / spread was crazy. Seems to have reduced a decent amount in swelling.

Kinda weird, but the week before I had what felt like a massive ingrown hair / zit / bite on top of my head / scalp. After about 5 days, I popped it and it went away over the next few days (haven’t had it for 5-7 days now). Wonder if that was also related. I don’t shave my head so would be odd to have an ingrown hair.

Maybe there is a spider in my bed who wants to attack my scalp and shaft.

This brings back a thought I had. If super man ever shot out of his schmeckle, poor Lois would be cooked. Username may be appropriate? Maybe you won't shoot webs but make every woman around you pregnant.

Sounds like some kind of penile cellulitis to me, but that's coming from the expert opinion of someone who just now scanned this thread convo in 10 secs

I just remembered that when I was in college, had a thrombosed penis blood vessel. Probably because I have Factor V Lieden. At any rate, I saw my Dr. about it, said it was no big deal and ordered me to go tell my GF I should keep it someplace wet warm and wet.

MRSA test did come back positive from the swab. I went in Tuesday afternoon, was given a shot and 7 days of antibiotics. As of today, I'd put it 85-90% healed. I kinda wish I took a picture of it. The shaft was swollen like a Campbell soup can and the lesion was ridiculously deep to the point I didn't think it would heal and close up without a suture or something or at least leave a permanent divot. Looks like my schmeckle is saved, or at least for now.
