Finally got around to watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was interesting but not for me.

I wonder how much of a surprise his whole twist on Hollywood history was to audiences in the theater.

There's also a deal for Hulu w/Disney+, $2.99/mo for 12 months. Just snagged that one, had to create a new account since I already had last year's deal.

I was just going to post this. You have to go a few episodes in before it really starts to get good but boy does it get interesting. It's very meta. I watched the first episode and was like meh. There was nothing else on so I watched another the next night and I wasn't sold but there was a little thread I wanted to tug at and every episode has gotten better and more interesting since.

Threw in a Starz add-on for $.99/mo/12 months (better than last year when it was only for 6 months), also got the separate Peacock deal $20/12 months.

Hulu won't let you renew at the same promo rate, it's only for new signups or previous customers who haven't had a subscription for at least a month. I had to make a new account to get it.
They did offer me something when I cancelled but it wasn't as good as the BF deal.

Just finished Interior Chinatown, with every ep it just gets weirder and more of a mind F***. For those viewers who like a mystery and to try to figure out what's going on, this show will constantly tell you 'don't bother, you're not gonna figure it out, just go with it'. Was overall a cool show with great performances with a lot of meta commentary, particularly on how Asian minority actors are used in Hollywood/US pop culture in general, but the storytelling is gonna be too trippy for viewers who like their entertainment to require minimal brain power.

Watched BOY KILLS WORLD over the weekend.
Holy shit. What a wild ride! It is chaotic and entertaining throughout. I totally forgot about it, only vaguely remembering some trailers from ages ago.
Despite being set in a dystopian society (Hunger Games-like) nothing in the movie is taken seriously and it is, in its core, an extremely action packed comedy. The perfect choice for narrating the movie of H. Jon Benjamin's voice tops it off, and to be honest, I don't think I would have enjoyed it nearly as much if it wasn't for his narration.
The fight choreography is over-the-top and so much fun. Think old school kung fu movies with some John Wick in the mix.
It’s the perfect movie to relax, turn off your brain, and enjoy some laughs against a crazy, acid-trip visual backdrop.

The Handmaid's Tale is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already. It's gripping and thought-provoking with great performances. Another solid choice is Brooklyn Nine-Nine it's a fun and lighthearted show, perfect for when you need a good laugh.

If you're in the mood for something more dramatic, The Act is an intense limited series based on real events, and Fargo has a great mix of dark humor and crime drama.

If Hulu's options are running low, 123movies is a great backup to explore full shows and movies, though quality can vary.

Currently caught up in watching Rivals, heard about it from a recent interview with David Tennant who co stars in the show

Basically its about rich a-holes in UK in the 80s living their rich lives backed by a great 80s soundtrack, particularly brit pop, with some drama, comedy and lots of nudity and f***ing.

Bill Burr's new standup special Drop Dead Years was pretty good. Less angry and ranty but still Bill.

Default Poor LA can't catch a break

Finished S1 of Paradise, entertaining but gonna need suspension of disbelief. Overall the production quality was high and the actors delivered, good to see Mardsen transitioning to grey-haired characters. The twists at the end are enough to tune in for S2 - the writers could go in several directions.

I enjoyed Anora. It answers the question: "What if Pretty Woman happened in real life, was a hard 'R', and the Richard Gere character was replaced by the spoiled son of a Russian Oligarch?"

Was it best picture material? I'm on the fence about that, but I was certainly entertained. Best Actress? Um ya, she definitely put in the work for that
